Este domingo finalmente se concretó nuestra presentación en el Museo Corbeta Leander, en el Parque del Este. La foto de arriba de una de las muchas que nos tomamos en la cubierta del barco. El proceso de cuadrar esta experiencia fue fastidioso, porque la gente responsable del espacio no presta mucha atención a sus celulares o sus mails, y sólo pudimos ir los tres instructores porque todas las demás personas que nos iban a acompañarnos (siete en total) han estado enfermas por más de una semana, se enfermaron en los últimos tres días o tuvieron inconvenientes insoslayables, una situación bastante significativa para mí.
Cuando fuimos el jueves pasado a terminar de cuadrar este evento, conseguimos en la entrada del Parque una tanquilla tapada de forma descuidada, con una cadena, una rama rota y un adoquín de cemento roto encima que me llamó de inmediato la atención por su parecido con la Runa Othala, asociada a amarres, promesas y herencias. Esta Runa puede expresar energías muy pesadas y estaba allí justamente cumpliendo esa función. Además de las otras señales que ya había notado sobre este trabajo en particular, ésta fue una clara indicación de que no íbamos a ese lugar a hablar de HEMA o a pelear un rato, el propósito era mayor. El Leander, y la laguna en la que reposa, constituyen el corazón del Parque del Este y uno de los nodos neurales de Caracas. Acceder allí, por lo tanto, nos dio una oportunidad única para modificar el funcionamiento del nodo, usando nuestras espadas para cortar simbólicamente una cadena de causalidad relacionada con la operación del Estado y de los grupos que lo tienen secuestrado.
This Sunday, we were finally able to do our presentation in the Corbeta Leander Museum in the Eastern Park. The picture above is one of the many that were taken of us on the ship's deck. The process to enable this experience was bothersome, because the people responsible for the space don't pay much attention to their cellphones or their emails, and only the three instructors were able to attend because all the other people who were going to accompany us (seven in total) have been sick for more than a week, fell sick in the past three days or had unavoidable inconveniences, a pretty significant situation for me.
When we went there last Thursday to finish setting up this event, we found at the entrance of the Park a concrete tank covered in a haphazard fashion, with a chain, a broken branch and a broken cobblestone on top which immediately drew my attention due to its similarity with the Rune Othala, associated with bindings, promises and inheritances. This Rune may express very heavy energies and it was there precisely fulfilling that function. In addition to the other signs that I'd already noticed about this particular work, this was a clear indication that we weren't going to that place to talk about HEMA or to fight for a bit, the purpose was greater. The Leander, and the lake where it's parked, constitute the heart of the Eastern Park and one of Caracas' neural nodes. Accessing there, therefore, gave us a unique opportunity to modify the functioning of the node, using our swords to symbolically cut a chain of causality related to the operation of the State and of the groups that have it sequestered.

En el evento como tal, no tuvimos realmente audiencia excepto algunos de los visitantes del museo y la gente que estaba pasando cerca, así que hicimos nuestra presentación ante los jóvenes que trabajan en el lugar, quienes estuvieron encantados de poder tener contacto con las herramientas de combate. También la persona que nos atendió estuvo fascinada con nuestro desempeño y terminó invitándonos a una posible visita a las ruinas de un fortín español que se encuentran en el Ávila, las cuales constituirían una locación ideal para la práctica que nos compete y podrían servir de escenario para una producción audiovisual mucho más elaborada. Si esta experiencia en efecto tiene lugar, podría también implicar una aproximación incluso más cercana al núcleo de poder del régimen y, por lo tanto, darme a mí y a mis compañeros la capacidad de influenciar el curso actual de los acontecimientos en Venezuela desde lo interno. Ésto no vendría sin sus riesgos, claro está, ya estamos entrando en contacto con militares y policias, pero son riesgos que estoy más que dispuesto a aceptar por la oportunidad de hacer mi servicio a esos niveles.
Cuando terminamos nuestra labor y nos fuimos a tomar un par de cervezas para refrescarnos y celebrar, me di cuenta de que el rosario que he usado desde la muerte de mi abuela en 2022 se quedó sin su cruz. Era algo que estaba esperando que sucediese, pues siempre se abrían los eslabones y la cruz se quedaba enganchada en todo constantemente. Considerando la potencia simbólica de esta experiencia, me pareció un elemendo muy relevante personalmente. Siempre que pierdo alguno de mis implementos o que se rompen por cualquier motivo, lo tomo como una ofrenda para algo mayor, y estoy emocionado por lo que ésta ofrenda me puede abrir.
In the actual event, we didn't really have an audience except for some visitors to the museum and the people who were passing by, so we did our presentation before the youths who work in the place, who were delighted to be able to have contact with the tools of combat. The person who attended us was also fascinated by our performance and ended up inviting us to a possible visit to the ruins of a Spanish fort that are located in the Ávila, which would be an ideal location for the practice that we're engaged in and could serve as a stage for an much better made audiovisual production. If this experience truly takes place, it could also imply an even closer approximation to the core of the regime's power and, therefore, give me and my companions the capacity to influence the current course of events in Venezuela from the inside. This wouldn't come without its risks, of course, we're already coming into contact with soldiers and policemen, but these are risks that I'm willing to accept for the opportunity of doing my service at those levels.
When we finished our labor and went to get a couple of beers to refresh ourselves and celebrate, I realized that the rosary that I've used since the death of my grandmother in 2022 was left without its cross. That was something that I was waiting for, because the links were always coming loose and the cross was constantly getting stuck in everything. Considering the symbolic power of this experience, this seemed like a very relevant element for me personally. Whenever I lose one of my implements or when they're broken for some reason, I take it as an offering for something greater, and I'm excited for what this offering might open for me.

A pesar de que vivo muy cerca de este Parque, no he puesto Runas en él nunca, pero ahora que he estado en el Leander, siento que ya estoy autorizado para hacerlo. En la brevedad posible, tallaré las piedras para este lugar, así como para el Parque del Oeste, que visité recientemente después de quizás 29 años sin ir. Sigo avanzando en mi camino y mis vivencias no dejan de ser amables y bellas. Estoy listo para más.

Although I live very close to this Park, I've never placed Runes in it, but now that I've been to the Leander, I feel that I'm already authorized to do so. As soon as possible, I'll carve the stones for this place, as well as for the Western Park, which I visited recently after perhaps 29 years of not going there. I keep progressing on my path and my experiences continue to be kind and beautiful. I'm ready for more.
