Better late than never, as I sneak in another Splinterlands SPS report card on the last day before my S168 data disappeared from this front-end. Season 168 ran from September 29 to October 15 and was the last full season with Rebellion reward cards -- the end of an era. Let's jump right into the numbers!
Match Report
Performance
| Stat | # Modern | # Wild |
|---|---|---|
| Rank | Champion I53 | Champion I39 |
| Rating | 4300 | 4980 |
| Rating High | 4340 | 4980 |
| Ratio (Win/Loss) | 1.13 (180/159) | 1.50 (164/109) |
| Longest Streak | 8 | 9 |
My ranked reward performance was good, earning a leaderboard spot in both formats for some extra Glint rewards. I cleared a bunch of time over the two weekends this season to jam a ton of battles, which is evidenced by my ability to play more Modern battles than Wild battles in S168.
Over my 339 battles in Modern, I won 180 of them for a 53.1% win rate. I snuck past the Champ 1 threshold of 4300 a few times, but I didn't want to risk falling below that mark on the last day of the season and let it ride. My conservative play meant that I had to settle for a spot out of the Top50 in 53rd place, which meant a bit less of a Glint reward.
No such rating issues in Wild, where I finished at a very healthy 4980 rating inside the Top 50 in 39th place. Over my 273 battles in Wild, the Archmage bot won 164 of them for a smooth 60% win rate. Nice work!

Glint season rewards will show in the season they are claimed.
Currently, with the changes to the reward system, I bumped my staked SPS up to 1.5M, which should also help with a nice increase for Glint and SPS through my rShare multiplier.
With 180 wins in Modern ranked, I took home 9065 SPS in spoils. The averages show 50.4 SPS per win and 26.7 SPS per battle.
With 164 wins in Wild, I took home 2785 SPS in spoils. The averages show 17 SPS per win and 10.2 SPS per battle. Not as strong as last season, but then again, XBot didn't have any uptime issues this season. Regardless, I was still very happy with the results, especially being able to play so many modern battles in my free time.
Turning to the @sps.dao tournaments, my personal tracking sheet shows my S168 prize total at 10389 SPS. It feels good to get back over that 10K threshold with more focus and dedication to getting those tournament battles submitted before those rise-and-shine deadlines here in the US Eastern time zone.
I earned about 40% of my entire purse with a 4th place finish in the Modern Expert Gold Foil event for over 4K SPS. I placed highly in a few other high profile Gold Foil events. But flees are still a huge issue for me as I sign up for all the tournaments in advance when they are published.
I entered 25 events in all, but incredibly, I only made Day 2 in SIX of them. Even worse, of those six events, I completed only Day 2 in two of them, fleeing my 2nd-round battles in the other four. Ouch! In another nine events, I played all the battles, but did not qualify for Day 2.
If the math is mathing, then I fled Day 1 in 10 of my 25 events. 40% fail rate to battle is way too high for consistent tournament performance and earnings. With more consistent tournament play, I could probably push 20K SPS in prizes.
⭐ SPS Report
| Type | ⭐ Amount |
|---|---|
| Staking Rewards | 1811.088 |
| Ranked Rewards as above | 11850.050 |
| Brawl Rewards | 578.329 |
| Land Rewards | 6243.269 |
| NET SPS | 20482.736 |
All told, I earned 11850 SPS combined from Modern and Wild in S168. Score!
Although we sorted out most of our brawl fray assignment in Shield of Glory going forward, me and a few others goofed a few times getting our brawl battles in, leaving us to settle with uninspired 3rd and 4th place finishes. That is not nearly good enough for the top-rated guild in the game. Shield of Glory deserves to finish No.1 in every brawl with the talent we have. Anything less is a let off for the other guilds.
On the other hand, I added a few new maxed alpha cards to beef up my SPS and Aura land plots a bit more. Although you can't see the aura earnings here, the SPS earnings keep creeping higher, now yielding me over 6K SPS from my two occupied SPS shard mines. Maybe land isn't SO BAD after all (but maybe it is).
The hotly debated SPS staking rewards came in at 1811 SPS for my personal stake of about 750K SPS. The other 750K I rent from guildmates P2P in order to bolster my earnings. Although if SPS drops any lower, I might just get in the market and buy the SPS myself! I know that would make quite a few of my guildmates quite happy.
Another season in Splinterlands and another smashing success, although my tournament play rate still needs a lot of work. Combining my 20483 SPS from Splinterlands reward streams with the 10389 SPS from the tournament prizes means I received 30872 SPS in Season 168. Based on the estimated SPS spot price of 0.007 USD, my rewards were worth about $216. Factor in over 1.5M Glint and countless potions, reward cards, and merits, and my account value rose even more.
I love how many different ways there are to earn and win in Splinterlands. All the while, I get to hang out in an amazing and supportive Web3 TCG community alongside some of the sharpest minds and coolest peeps in my guilds and cliques. I hope you are having a blast playing this game too! Until next time...
