Hola a todos los hivers de esta comunidad! De toda la vida he sentido una conexión especial con los perritos. Es por eso que me resulta inevitable y me dejo arrastar por esta iniciativa propuesta por @hiveargentina, quien nos convoca a debatir sobre esas almas herrantes cargadas de lealtad : los perros callejeros.
Tengo dos amigas que también aman los canes y por eso quisiera verlas dar su parecer en esta convocatoria: @yuraimatc y @marpasifico. Las espero en estas páginas!!
Caminar por las calles de Camagüey y encontrarse con la mirada perdida de un perro callejero es una experiencia que, tristemente, ya forma parte del paisaje.
Felizmente, existe un grupo de rescate que se lleva todos los aplausos, que, sin ánimo de lucro, sin buscar remuneración ni méritos, se enfrentan cada día al dolor, al cansancio y a la tristeza de ver animales sufrir, para devolverles su dignidad. Por lo que quiero antes que nada, compartirles la dirección de estos ángeles terrestres, por si conoces de algún perrito en apuros.

Una vez pidieron ayuda para acoger un perrito chino aparentemente saludable ( pero con hambre en la mirada -obviamente-) El cachorro solía ser ( deja ver cómo digo esto sin entrar en debates) de un diambulante que recientemente había fallecido producto de una complicación diabética, que acostumbraba dormir en el parque Agramonte.
No dudé dos veces en salir a buscarlo, pero sin importar los esfuerzos y los mimos en casa: el perro siempre regresaba al mismo parque, al mismo banco...como un ejercicio cíclico y bien ensayado de fidelidad. No tengo fotos de "Dante". Pero lo recuerdo siempre porque me dejó una experiencia de vida y un poema a medias, que terminó de escribirse con el tiempo y las partidas:
*"...Persigo un xoloitzcuintle vagabundo,
el Hachikō a los pies del Agramonte,
sin chihuahua dichoso que lo afronte
ni Shibuya asomándose a su mundo,
con sus llagas ardiendo en lo profundo
va el portal al derrumbe que apuntalo..."*
El tiempo pasó y para alegría nuestra, llegó Thor a nosotros....
No tenía pedigree, no estaba bañado ... Pero tenía algo que muchos perros criados con comodidades no siempre desarrollan: una gratitud infinita.
Hay quien defiende la idea errónea de que los perros callejeros son agresivos, impredecibles, antihigiénicos... Se valora más al perro que viene con certificado de raza que a los verdaderos sobrevivientes. Quien ha adoptado un perrito de la calle sabe que ellos aman con una intensidad casi mística. Saben lo que es no tener nada, por eso lo valoran TODO, por poco que nos parezca.
Les comparto fotos de Suzi, también adoptada desde cachorrita y que nos regaló hace poco sus primeros hijitos ya en adopción.
Adoptar es un acto de amor, pero también un acto de responsabilidad social. Y quienes forman parte de estos grupos de rescate lo saben. No basta con atenderlos físicamente, es necesario ayudarlos a sanar sus traumas emocionales. Cada rescate es una victoria contra el abandono, contra la indiferencia, contra la crueldad.
¿Qué tipo de personas somos si caminamos indiferentes ante el dolor de quienes no tienen voz?
Adoptemos, ayudemos, compartamos. Porque los callejeros no necesitan lástima, NECESITAN OPORTUNIDADES!

Fortunately, there is a rescue group that gets all the applause, that, without profit, without seeking remuneration or merit, face the pain, fatigue and sadness of seeing animals suffer every day, to restore their dignity.

They once asked for help to take in an apparently healthy Chinese dog (but with hunger in its eyes -obviously-). The puppy used to belong (let's see how I say this without getting into debates) of a homeless man who had recently died as a result of a diabetic complication, who used to sleep in Agramonte Park.
I didn't hesitate twice to go out to look for him, but regardless of the efforts and pampering at home: the dog always returned to the same park, to the same bench...like a cyclical and well-rehearsed exercise in loyalty.
I don't have any photos of "Dante." But I always remember it because it left me with a life experience and a half-finished poem, which was finished being written over time and games:
"...I'm chasing a wandering xoloitzcuintle, the Hachikō at the foot of Agramonte, without happy chihuahua to face it nor Shibuya peeking into its world, with its wounds burning deep the portal goes to the collapse that props it up..."
Time passed and to our joy, Thor came to us....
He didn't have a pedigree, he wasn't bathed... But he had something that many dogs raised with comfort don't always develop: infinite gratitude.
There are those who defend the mistaken idea that stray dogs are aggressive, unpredictable, unhygienic... The dog that comes with a breed certificate is valued more than the true survivors.
Anyone who has adopted a stray dog knows that they love with an almost mystical intensity. They know what it's like to have nothing, that's why they value EVERYTHING, no matter how little it may seem to us.

Adopting is an act of love, but also an act of social responsibility. And those who are part of these rescue groups know it. It is not enough to care for them physically, it is necessary to help them heal their emotional traumas.
Each rescue is a victory against abandonment, against indifference, against cruelty. What kind of people are we if we walk indifferent to the pain of those who have no voice?
