There weren't many interesting, much less historical, sites near our Clarem Guesthouse hotel. We were basically living in a dead end on Carmona Beach Road. A small village with only hotels, guesthouses, villas and a handful of shops. There's only one main attraction here - Zalor/Carmona Beach with fine white sand, beach cafes and a wonderful meditative break to the sound of the Arabian Sea. The beach was really good, that's for sure! But the entertainment here is so-so. The hotel, the beach and the road between them, that's all the joys of life! Party people will be bored here! And since there's one interesting architectural site very close to the hotel, you have to go there. 250 meters is not a distance! Just a light warm-up for your legs and nothing more!
We walk along Fatrade Road towards Cavelossim. Just a couple of hotel buildings and we are already there! At the same time, you can look at this narrow asphalt road for one and a half cars. The road has almost no shoulders, you can walk along this road to Cavelossim, but we categorically rejected this option and walked along the beach. Not far from the intersection of Carmona Beach Road and Fatrade Road, there is a small Catholic church called "Our Lady of Piety Chapel, Zalor, Carmona, Goa". This is a new church building, opened in December 2017. In Goa, Catholic churches have very interesting and unique architecture, after all, Goa had a long Portuguese colonial past. Almost all the churches that we saw in Goa are white and blue, such an Andalusian style. It looks beautiful and elegant, but you can immediately feel the Indian exoticism. All these striped spires and wavy lines on the pediment are clearly not canonical. The interesting technical solution associated with the bell tower is especially striking. A rope is simply tied to the bell and a specially trained person rings the bell right from the entrance to the church.
There is a sign on the building stating that this is the new chapel "Our Lady of Piety Chapel, Zalor, Carmona, Goa". It was consecrated and opened on December 23, 2017, that is, just on the eve of Catholic Christmas.

In der Nähe unseres Clarem Guesthouse Hotels gab es nicht viele interessante, geschweige denn historische Sehenswürdigkeiten. Wir wohnten praktisch in einer Sackgasse an der Carmona Beach Road. Ein kleines Dorf mit nur Hotels, Pensionen, Villen und einer Handvoll Geschäften. Es gibt hier nur eine Hauptattraktion: den Zalor/Carmona Beach mit feinem weißen Sand, Strandcafés und einer wunderbaren meditativen Pause beim Rauschen des Arabischen Meeres. Der Strand war wirklich gut, das ist klar! Aber die Unterhaltung hier ist mittelmäßig. Das Hotel, der Strand und die Straße dazwischen – das sind die Freuden des Lebens! Partygänger werden sich hier langweilen! Und da es ganz in der Nähe des Hotels eine interessante architektonische Sehenswürdigkeit gibt, muss man unbedingt hin. 250 Meter sind keine Entfernung! Nur ein leichtes Aufwärmtraining für die Beine, mehr nicht!
Wir laufen die Fatrade Road entlang Richtung Cavelossim. Nur ein paar Hotelgebäude, und schon sind wir da! Gleichzeitig kann man diese schmale Asphaltstraße für eineinhalb Autos betrachten. Die Straße hat fast keine Seitenstreifen. Man könnte sie zu Fuß bis Cavelossim entlanggehen, aber wir haben diese Option kategorisch abgelehnt und sind stattdessen am Strand entlang gelaufen. Unweit der Kreuzung von Carmona Beach Road und Fatrade Road befindet sich eine kleine katholische Kirche namens „Our Lady of Piety Chapel, Zalor, Carmona, Goa“. Es handelt sich um ein neues Kirchengebäude, das im Dezember 2017 eröffnet wurde. In Goa haben katholische Kirchen eine sehr interessante und einzigartige Architektur, schließlich hatte Goa eine lange portugiesische Kolonialvergangenheit. Fast alle Kirchen, die wir in Goa gesehen haben, sind weiß und blau, ein typischer andalusischer Stil. Sie sehen wunderschön und elegant aus, aber man spürt sofort die indische Exotik. All diese gestreiften Türme und Wellenlinien auf dem Giebel sind eindeutig nicht kanonisch. Besonders auffällig ist die interessante technische Lösung des Glockenturms. Ein Seil wird einfach an die Glocke gebunden und eine speziell ausgebildete Person läutet die Glocke direkt vom Eingang der Kirche aus.
Am Gebäude befindet sich ein Schild, das darauf hinweist, dass es sich um die neue Kapelle „Our Lady of Piety Chapel, Zalor, Carmona, Goa“ handelt. Sie wurde am 23. Dezember 2017, also kurz vor dem katholischen Weihnachtsfest, eingeweiht und eröffnet.
