Does Hive go to standby during vacation?

Ever since I stepped into the world of Web 3 social networks, including Hive, I have always wondered why some users disconnect from the platform during their annual vacations.

I understand that there is a need to clear the brain from the influence of networks and the Internet, but in my case it is not like that.

The reason is probably that Hive, like crypto among other things, is my hobby, which I got involved in past few years.
It is not a job for me to earn some $ in order to feed myself, nor is it an activity that I have to do, like some of the witnesses, for whom network maintenance is probably just that, some form of work.

Unlike those who disconnect from Hive, when they go on vacation, I disconnect from my official cell phone and email.
As soon as I cross the border, the phone goes into Airplane mode.

I become unavailable for all the things I'm available for the other 355 days a year, and really available for what makes me happy.
For what I like to do and what I enjoy doing.

Considering that I can devote very little time to Hive on days when I work at my daily job, on the way home from work or before going to bed, when I'm on vacation, the time I have is much longer.

Considering that time is a limited resource, when I do something that I have to (or like), I reduce the time for something else that I like.
Since becoming a Hive daily, during weekdays, I've sacrificed the time I used to devote to reading.

But these days, when there is no work (ie, there is work, but I am not available for it), I have enough time for Hive, but also for reading.
And for cold frappes on the beach.

That's all that's enough for me to enjoy.
If, in doing so, I activate my investigative spirit, visit some landmark or take a picture of a location, drink some beer or have lunch in a good restaurant, and immortalize it with a photograph, there will be material for some stories.

The only thing that can limit my Hive time is the lack of internet, either WiFi or mobile data, when I'm out and about or in some area with no mobile network signal.
But that's why the book is there, always available, even if I'm on a deserted beach.
Just as I doze off when I look at posts on Hive, the same thing happens to me when I read a book. It can happen that it falls out of my hand...
The only thing is that with the book I don't have the risk of it breaking (or breaking my nose or creating a bruise under my eye) if it falls out of my hand, like a mobile phone 🙂
I simply put the book down on my face and enjoy the smell of the paper.

Only a few days and this extraordinary thriller has already been read.

The second book is ready for me to start with, and so is Hive, with your adventures, experiences, travels and stories.
The only problem is the rapid spending of VP on your posts, which I read more than usual and enjoy the places you visit.
I hope that in the coming days of rest and relaxation, I will be able to share some stories with you that I didn't get to while I was working.
