If any collection can be called that, and especially a collection of badges, small metal stickers that depict our ideas, highlight our attitudes, determine our affiliation, glorify our favorites and convey our wishes.
Considering how many individual items I have shown in some previous collections, this time there will be a lot less of them, but solely because the old badges I collected as a kid ended up somewhere in the trash, along with a few other collections that were of great value to me 30 and 40 years ago.
Unfortunately, growing up, something else became more valuable to me, and my childhood hobbies had to give way to other subjects.
But even in later days, some attitudes and ideas, as well as favorite movies and music, were accompanied by some badge, so I still own the collection 🙂
Just to report, this cute little cat badge I took off my girlfriend's backpack 🙂
And this badge with dots (30 of them in total), I took off from the lapel of my jacket, which I hung up 3 years ago, when the company I work for celebrated 30 years of work.
I mentioned my favorite movie - The Lord of the Rings.
This small badge features a line from The Fellowship of the Ring, which describes Aragorn's journey, and is also the motto of all traveling adventurers.
I also have one brooch in that thin collection, "like, my partner bought it for me by accident". As she told me, he reminded her of me. Why, I wonder? 😅
And with my partner, I fell in love with Djordje Balasevic's songs.
So much so that we went together to all the concerts that Djordje held after his return to the big stage from 2013 and the concert at Kalemegdan, to the last concert in Hala Spens in Novi Sad, on Bogojavljenje, 19 January 2020.
On that occasion, not knowing that we were listening live to this fantastic singer-songwriter for the last time, we bought small badges with excerpts of some verses from his songs.
The "skinny" collection, if only it had these three badges, is as valuable to me as if there were 30 of them because of the emotions and memories.
And since the accident in the same Novi Sad, when on November 1, 2024, 16 people lost their lives due to the fall of the canopy at the railway station, protests began in Serbia.
And badges have always accompanied rebels and people who want justice.
It was the same in 1996, when I wore a badge with a clenched fist of the Resistance on my jacket, but also today, when the symbol of protest is a bloody fist, because "Their hands are bloody", due to the suffering of the victims.
Those protests that started massively all over Serbia at the end of the year, continue today, in different forms, and all with clear demands "That the institutions do their job".
We are all invited to the streets, as this little yellow badge says, and we organize ourselves by gathering in choirs, each in our own part of the city.
I am present, near one of the symbols of the city, which I clearly show with this badge.
The three towers, the eastern gate of Belgrade, are represented as a trumpet, a whistle and a pump, which are the symbols of this protest.
You probably remember the recent matches until the semi-finals of Wimbledon, when after each victory, Novak Djokovic "Pumpaj", in support of the students of Serbia, who started protests and woke up a sleeping society.
These badges are worn by all of us who are against the criminal regime and we are recognized by them on the street.
If someone doesn't have a badge, they can always buy one at one of the rallies, as they have become very popular.
My collection, as small as it is, means a lot to me and I am proud to present it to you.
