This is my submission for the #monomad challenge
About two years ago I set off with two friends to try something a bit daring and also a bit crazy - we decided to hike up a trail we'd never been up just before sunset and spend the night there in hopes of capturing a beautiful sunrise.
After a grueling drive up a forest road, the hike starts with a beautiful meadow and quickly ascends nearly 700m (2100ft) to the rocky summit.

We never got to see the sunset that night. But we did see some incredible stars, shimmering between the whisps of wind blown clouds. And a few moments of beautiful clear night sky as well.
Morning came, and it wasn't quite what we'd expected. But it was absolutely incredible still. An absolutely epic night to remember for a long time. My friends and I to this day still think back on this journey and trip we made happen.
