Hey everyone! Hope you're all feeling ready for some real talk!
So this week, i want us to dive into something that's been on my mind a lot lately. You know how we all have those moments of clarity where we KNOW exactly what would change everything for us? That crystal clear knowing about what we need to do, who we need to become, or what we need to let go of?
But then... we don't do it.
This week's question is: "What's the one thing you KNOW would transform your life, but you haven't done it yet - and what's really stopping you?"
i'm talking about that thing that keeps whispering to you. Maybe it's been whispering for months, maybe for years. The thing that makes your heart race a little when you think about actually doing it. The thing that feels both terrifying and absolutely right.
Maybe it's leaving that job that's slowly killing your soul. Maybe it's having that conversation you've been avoiding. Maybe it's starting that creative project that's been burning inside you. Maybe it's changing how you eat, or where you live, or who you spend time with. Maybe it's learning a skill that would give you more freedom. Maybe it's setting a boundary that you know needs to be set.
We all have it - that one thing we KNOW would shift everything.
And we also all have our reasons for not doing it. Some of them are practical, some of them are emotional, some of them are stories we've been telling ourselves for so long we don't even question them anymore.
For me, i've noticed there's often this gap between the knowing and the doing. The knowing feels so clear, so obvious. But then there's this whole other layer of resistance that kicks in. Sometimes it's fear - fear of change, fear of failure, fear of success, fear of what other people will think. Sometimes it's that voice that says "who am i to want this?" or "this isn't realistic for someone like me."
Sometimes it's practical stuff - money, time, responsibilities. But if i'm really honest, sometimes those practical concerns are also ways of avoiding the deeper fear.
And here's what i find fascinating - we can be so wise about other people's lives, so clear about what they should do, but when it comes to our own transformation, suddenly we become experts at all the reasons why it's not possible.
But what if it is possible? What if the thing that's stopping us isn't actually as solid as we think it is? What if the stories we're telling ourselves about why we can't are just that - stories?
i'm not saying it's easy. Real transformation rarely is. But there's something powerful about getting honest about what we're actually avoiding and why.
Because here's what i've learned - that knowing doesn't go away. That thing you know would transform your life? It's going to keep knocking until you answer the door. And the longer we avoid it, the louder it gets.
So let's get real about it. Let's shine some light on those beautiful, scary, transformative things we know we need to do. Let's look at what's really stopping us - not to judge ourselves, but to understand what we're working with.
Maybe when we name it, we take away some of its power. Maybe when we share it with our community, we remember we're not alone in this very human dance between knowing and doing.
