In one of these photographic wanderings through the historic center of Havana I ended up at the floating dock in the bay, near the dock of the boats bound for Regla and Casablanca. It had been a long time since I had been on that pier. The last time I did, the dock was in very good condition, unlike now. In those days there were many people walking there, whole families and many children running around, it was a cheerful place and very visited in the walks through the city.
Now the difference is abysmal, the pier is deteriorated, with several holes and only a few regular fishermen are seen there, just that. It saddened me a lot because in this place my daughter when she was little used to run around and have a lot of fun. Many things have changed since then, and not exactly for the better. With these images that I share today I want to make entry to the daily challenge #monomad. At the beginning when I walked around there I was a little dizzy with the swaying of the pier, but not anymore. Maybe that swaying will someday give us back a little of the prosperity of times past. Hola apasionados del blanco y negro y del vaivén del mar. En uno de estos andares fotográficos por el centro histórico de La Habana fui a parar al muelle flotante que está en la bahía, cerca del atracadero de las lanchas con destino a Regla y Casablanca. Hacía tiempo que no entraba a ese muelle. La última vez que lo hice el muelle estaba en muy buen estado a diferencia de ahora. En aquellos tiempos había muchas personas paseando allí, familias enteras y muchos niños correteando, era un lugar alegre y muy visitado en los paseos por la ciudad. Ahora la diferencia es abismal, el muelle está deteriorado, con varios huecos y solo se ven por allí algunos pescadores habituales, solo eso. Me entristeció mucho porque en este sitio mi hija cuando era pequeña correteaba y se divertía de lo lindo. Muchas cosas han cambiado desde entonces, y no precisamente para bien. Con estas imágenes que comparto hoy quiero hacer entrada al reto diario #monomad. Al principio cuando caminaba por allí me mareaba un poco el vaivén del muelle, ya ahora no. Quizás ese vaivén algún día nos devuelva un poco de la prosperidad de tiempos pasados. ¡Chao!
