Oh Yeaaaaah
Look at me outside, I had to be careful because of the morning due. Last thing that you want is to get electrocuted that early...
You know me and sunrise, I just can't help myself.
Yesterday night, we had a barbecue at a friend, herm...Braai I mean, which is the South African way to say it haha.
And the ribs were slowly cooked for 3 hours, so when biting them, they were just melting, oh my god...I've been thinking about these ribs ever since yesterday, probably the best thing I've eaten in the last decade.
This guy just casually said "I have a catering company", I was thinking "ok dude" but little did I know, that he specialized in barbecue catering, which I didn't know was a thing.
It changed my life. I want to be that guy now. I want to learn how to slowly cook baby back ribs for a few hours...
Baby back baby back...
fart
Lately I've been writing a stand up comedy act of 30 minutes, for no other reason than to self depreciate myself a little. It all started after watching a podcast (yes you can watch podcasts on youtube) called KILL TONY, the principle is easy, comedians have 1 minute on stage to make people laugh, and I was like "Ah that's easy" and my wife was like "realllllyyyyy" and I was like "pffff" and then next thing you know I was writing like a maniac in my diary (yes I have a diary).
And it's really liberating, to make fun of yourself. Not everything is funny for everyone, I realize that a lot of the jokes depend on a good delivery, I tried some of my jokes on friends that visited for the Festival in Marciac, and it didn't always land.
I am working on the delivery. Lot's of racial jokes...😁
But yeah, I forgot what I was about to say...
That song, is from Rema, a Nigerian (I think he is Nigerian at least), a song that has been super popular the last year, I think it's a total banger, especially so minimalist, just a guitar, a beat, simple bass line, you can add keys if needed but not necessary, a great flow from Rema, so I was like "count me in".
As the song is in Yoruba and Pidgin, I thought of translating the first verse and chorus in English (though someone could argue Pidgin is very much similar to English) and the second verse in French.
And here we are, I've adapted and changed the lyrics to fit the theme of the song, talking about that girl at a party, wearing yelloooooooow... So what's interesting, under US law, when you translate a song; it can potentially become derivative work, and could potentially be monetized.
I am not saying that's why I translated it, I thought it was just...Interesting...
