It's been a while, guys!
It's been really hard to find time to post lately, we are extremely busy with a few things that hopefully I can talk about soon, but you know how it is, you don't wanna jinx it by putting it out there!
This year, we decided to focus a lot on growing fruits, we are going to have a good plumbs, grapes, and blueberry harvest, for now we're drying everything and it doesn't make it to the dry stock for long as it's being eaten so fast. 🤣
On the potato side, we just planted one lane, I also learned how to drive a tractor, and it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be. As you are probably aware, the weather has been really weird lately, lots of storms, lots of rain, and some plants have been really acting up!
We picked a breed of potato called "Mona Lisa". There are also a few spots that grew potato plants because we forgot some potatoes last year. and we left them.
We got our hand on some manure from the neighbour, it's also his tractor. Thanks!
We've been giving away tons of blueberries, they're awesome when eaten fresh , but with that weather & fruit flies, rest assured that they won't last very long, speaking of which, I am about to go harvest some more, see ya in a minute...
And...We're back! Filled up 2 bowls!
The Magic of Passion Flowers
I could have probably done a post just to talk about passion flower, we discovered it when we moved in our farm in 2020, it's an incredible flower, really beautiful, often referred as Maypop, has a really heavy spiritual meaning.
You can dry and smoke the flowers, put them in a tea, it has calming effects, it's a flower that is beautiful to stare at, incredible Fibonacci ratio and Christian undertone:
The passionflower supposedly points to the Christian crucifixion story (also called the Passion). The bloom’s 10 petal-like parts represent Jesus’ disciples (excluding deniers Peter and Judas), the five stamens signify Jesus’ wounds, the knob-like stigmas suggest the nails, and the fringed ring resembles the crown of thorns.
If you already smoke the herb, the effects are pretty similar to THC/CBD. If you're having insomnia, a tea of the dry flowers will be the best way to put you to sleep.
Just looking at the flowers daily, closing after a hot day, and reopening the next morning, is just a beautiful thing to witness. Now the flower is growing around the house, and we might just let it "rewild" our home. I just love it, and can't help but think that there must be a protective aspect to it, on an energy level.
Gandalf
This incredible moth visited us, and stayed in the house for a while. It laid eggs in some places, and then I accidentally stepped on it, I am sorry little buddy, you were really pretty.
Firefly
I didn't step on the firefly. It's the second time of my life I see one, lately we've been having so many "visitors", either birds, strange animals, hares approaching me and not being scared, also it's amazing how much all the trees & plants have grown this year, just surrounding us with a wall of vegetation, all around the farm. Even the fern started creating a protective hedge on the edge of our land, and another dominant specie of hedge called "Privet", has been growing on its own around the house.
I got a lemon tree to celebrate my mom's visit, I love it very much. We probably leave it in a big pot for now.
On the left side, it's potatoes, just one lane, and next to it you got butternuts, and a few tomatoes.
That's it for today, thanks for reading, and sorry for not being here for a while, I completely cut off social media after releasing my last music video, I think I needed a break!
Just a quick game, can someone give me the name of that last fruit?
