La cual se puede decir que ha arrancado con todo el fuego y la pasión que caracteriza a nuestro pasatiempo nacional. El 2 de septiembre comenzó la fiesta de la pelota cubana, en el Estadio Julio Antonio Mella, cuartel general de los Leñadores de las Tunas, cuya sede estuvo más que ganada, por ser el coliseo de los actuales campeones defensores.

A penas corre una semana de acción y ya hemos visto algunas rachas impresionantes, sorpresas y hasta el primer Súper KO de la temporada, que marca el tono agresivo de la competencia. Acontinuacion vamos a desglosar un poco de lo que va de serie: el desempeño de los equipos y algunos pronósticos basados en estos primeros resultados.
Los Leñadores de Las Tunas, actuales campeones defensores del título de la pasada Serie 63, comenzaron con el pie derecho mostrando su potencia al bate, luego de vencer con un racimo de 10 carreras por 6 al conjunto de Pinar del Río en la propia jornada inaugural. Este triunfo los consolidó, desde el primer momento, como el conjunto favorito capaz de repetir su asaña de la serie 63.

Avispas de Santiago de Cuba acapararon los titulares luego de hacer historia, el 3 de septiembre propinaron el primer Súper KO de la serie. Completaron una aplastante victoria vistiendo un marcador de 15 carreras por 0 sobre la Isla de la Juventud, en apenas cinco entradas en el Estadio Guillermón Moncada.

Pinar del Río, subcampeones de la Serie 63, quienes han contado con el regreso en su nómina del estelar de Alexei Ramírez (ex Grandes Ligas), así como las muñecas ofensivas de William Saavedra, han tenido un arranque mixto. Aunque con occidente hay que contar, equipos de peso histórico como Vegueros de Pinar del Río y Leones de Industriales se valen de herramientas para llegar a la clasificación.
Quienes, al igual que nóminas como Matanzas, tienen todas las de ganar basadas en su experiencia, para pelear por su boleto a la clasificación. No se puede descartar la presencia de equipos como Artemisa, que a pesar de su juventud podrían colarse en la competencia. Esta Serie 64 ha comenzado como se esperaba, mostrando un espectáculo que logra unir a los aficionados de Cuba entera.
