Oficialmente ha dicho adiós el verano 2025. Pero todos hemos pasado dos meses espectaculares, dimos muchos paseos por la ciudad, hicimos cosas divertidas visitando a la familia y los amigos. Quizás el verano se haya marchado de aquí, sin embargo, nos ha dejado un calor y un sol que hace que estemos esperando por el invierno a gritos.
Esta mañana, como habíamos planificado, mi esposa, mi niño y yo, salimos a dar un recorrido por la ciudad. Ha llegado el momento de comprar todo lo que nos hará falta para nuestro regreso a casa. Recuerden que los dos meses de vacaciones los pasamos en la ciudad en casa de mi esposa. Toca ahora regresar a nuestro hogar, en el kilómetro cinco de la Carretera a Luis Lazo, donde está la escuela de mi niño, sus amigos, mis padres, los apagones sin horarios, en fin, la rutina de todos los días.
Queríamos salir bien temprano en la mañana, pero se nos pegó la colcha y dormimos un poco más. Así que aproveché para pelar a mi niño, que ya comienza el curso escolar el lunes. Esta es una de las mejores inversiones que hice en algún momento. Comprarme esa máquina de pelar me ha beneficiado, ya que con ella no solo me rasuro, sino también le hago algún que otro pelado a mi hijo. Luego de los cortes de cabello, nos metimos en la ducha para quitarnos aquella peluquera del cuerpo.
Nos bañamos y comenzamos a preparar lo que íbamos a llevar para la calle. Cuando estuvimos listos, caminamos por la ciudad para visitar los diferentes puntos de ventas en los que íbamos a hacer nuestras compras. La primera parada del recorrido, fue una placita, donde fuimos a comprar un arroz normado que vino para todos los consumidores. Nos pusimos hasta de suerte, ya que nos dieron la oportunidad de comprar un poco más de lo que tocaba.
Arroz asegurado en mano, continuamos la búsqueda de algún plato fuerte para las comidas. Compramos un tubo de jamonada de pollo, que no es lo más convencional como para plato fuerte, pero en un momento de apuro resuelve. Encontramos picadillo de pollo en buen precio, nos llevamos varias libras porcionadas para las comidas. Casi lo teníamos todo listo para regresar, sin embargo, quería también comprar algunas galletas, que me aseguren los desayunos y las meriendas escolares del niño allá en mi casa, donde el pan se pierde.
En una de las tantas mipymes de la ciudad, aprovechamos y compramos unos paquetes de galletas saladas, también dulces, para combinar los desayunos. Agregamos un pomo de aceite, ya que eso siempre hace falta en la casa. De regreso pasábamos por frente a una heladería y resultó que estaban vendiendo helado. Hacía una calor que se me antojó sentarnos un momento a refrescarnos.
El helado, creo nos vino muy bien a todos. Fueron como unas cinco bolas para cada uno, estaban grandes y así prácticamente no tuvimos ni que almorzar cuando llegamos a la casa. Nos pasó algo cómico allí en la heladería, se nos sentó allí en una silla sobrante un abuelito que parecía un papagayo, hablando hasta por los codos. Mariolis no hacía más que mirarme y reírse de aquel peculiar momento.
El resto de la tarde, lo empleamos en recoger todo lo que nos llevaremos mañana para Luis Lazo. Queremos salir temprano y llegar a aquella otra casa para recogerla, limpiarla y prepararla de todos estos días que estuvo cerrada. Para hacer un buen viaje de regreso tengo pensado alquilar algún mototaxi, ya que vamos cargados de equipaje. Esto fue lo que estuvimos haciendo este sábado por acá, espero que ustedes también tuvieran un día espectacular y que todos sus pendientes pudieran ser resultados.

Summer 2025 has officially come to an end. But we all had two spectacular months, took many walks around the city, and did fun things visiting family and friends. Summer may be gone, but it has left us with heat and sunshine that makes us eagerly await winter.
This morning, as planned, my wife, my son, and I went out for a tour of the city. The time has come to buy everything we will need for our return home. Remember that we spent the two months of vacation in the city at my wife's house. Now it's time to return to our home, at kilometer five of the Luis Lazo Highway, where my son's school, his friends, my parents, the unscheduled power outages, in short, our daily routine, are located.
We wanted to leave early in the morning, but we got stuck under the covers and slept a little longer. So I took the opportunity to give my son a haircut, as he starts school on Monday. This is one of the best investments I've ever made. Buying that hair clipper has benefited me, as I not only shave myself with it, but also give my son the occasional haircut. After the haircuts, we got in the shower to wash the hair clipper off our bodies.
We bathed and began to prepare what we were going to take with us. When we were ready, we walked around the city to visit the different stores where we were going to do our shopping. The first stop on the tour was a small square, where we went to buy a ration of rice that was available to all consumers. We were lucky, as they gave us the opportunity to buy a little more than our ration.
With the rice secured, we continued our search for a main dish for our meals. We bought a tube of chicken ham, which is not the most conventional main dish, but it will do in a pinch. We found chicken mince at a good price and bought several pounds portioned for our meals. We had almost everything ready to go, but I also wanted to buy some cookies to ensure breakfast and school snacks for my son back home, where bread is scarce.
At one of the many small businesses in the city, we took advantage of the opportunity and bought some packages of savory cookies, as well as sweet ones, to mix up breakfast. We added a bottle of oil, as that is always needed at home. On the way back, we passed in front of an ice cream shop and it turned out they were selling ice cream. It was so hot that I felt like sitting down for a moment to cool off.
I think the ice cream was very good for all of us. We each had about five scoops; they were large, so we hardly needed lunch when we got home. Something funny happened to us at the ice cream shop: an old man who looked like a parrot sat down next to us on an empty chair and talked our ears off. Mariolis kept looking at me and laughing at that peculiar moment.
We spent the rest of the afternoon gathering everything we'll take tomorrow for Luis Lazo. We want to leave early and get to that other house to pick it up, clean it, and get it ready after all these days it's been closed. To make the return trip a good one, I plan to rent a motorcycle taxi, since we'll be loaded down with luggage. That's what we did here this Saturday.
