This macro photo was taken on the beach but I'm actually not sure what the object in the middle was. Most likely it was a small rounded pebble creating a minor indentation in the sand that got exposed when the water receded at low tide. Either way, I liked the symmetrical nature of the object and its surroundings and thus kept that symmetry in the photo.
This photo is my third entry for theme Macro in the B&W Photo Contest, #bwphotocontest, by @daveks with guest judge @mweich.
Camera: Olympus OM-D E-M5
This photo was taken a few months after the one in the two previous posts, and I had moved up from a Canon PowerShot SX230 HS to an Olympus OM-D E-M5. I really liked the manual controls and improved picture quality in a still small form factor, but the shutter lag was quite a downside, so not too long after that I switched to a Nikon DSLR for my daily photography and kept the E-M5 as a travel camera.
