Hello everyone! Not long ago, I was at a hotel in Havana, enjoying a quiet afternoon while watching the comings and goings of the city from the outdoor areas.
The atmosphere was warm, with that characteristic Caribbean air that seems to embrace everything. Suddenly, something unexpected happened: a pregnant cat appeared among the tables and began to get closer and closer to me.
With that look only animals know how to give—full of tenderness and a touch of shyness—she carefully climbed onto my lap. I felt her round belly rest against me, as if she knew she would find a safe place there. She wasn’t looking for food or anything material; she was seeking affection, and of course, she found it.
Petting her felt like stopping time. Her purring blended with the soft background music, and the feeling of her trusting me, even without knowing me, touched me deeply. In that moment, I remembered something I’ve always carried within me: my heart is open to those animals who come seeking love. They don’t lie, they don’t pretend, they only look for a little affection and companionship, and I firmly believe that offering it is one of the purest forms of humanity.

Hola a todos! Hace poco me encontraba en un hotel en La Habana, disfrutando de una tarde tranquila mientras observaba el ir y venir de la ciudad desde las áreas exteriores
El ambiente era cálido, con ese aire caribeño tan característico que parece envolverlo todo. De pronto, algo inesperado sucedió: una gata que estaba gestando se apareció entre las mesas y se me acercaba cada vez más.
Con esa mirada que solo los animales saben poner, llena de ternura y un toque de timidez, se subió con cuidado sobre mis piernas. Sentí su pancita redonda apoyarse en mí, como si supiera que allí encontraría un lugar seguro. No buscaba comida ni nada material; buscaba cariño, y por supuesto lo encontró.
Acariciarla fue como detener el tiempo. Sus ronroneos se mezclaban con la música suave de fondo, y la sensación de tenerla confiando en mí, aun sin conocerme, me conmovió profundamente. En ese momento recordé algo que siempre he llevado dentro: mi corazón está abierto para aquellos animales que se acercan pidiendo amor. Ellos no mienten, no fingen, solo buscan un poco de afecto y compañía, y creo firmemente que ofrecerlo es una de las formas más puras de humanidad.
