This is my entry for the #monomad challenge hosted and curated by @monochromes --- ---
Sometimes ants are not my favorite animal to photograph, because usually they don't stay in a spot for too long, and they usually always on the move. nad the other reason is that they are so agile and so fast, so keeping the track is not an easy thing, and to get it sharp on macro set up is not an easy one. At least that is what I encounter and my experience so far. That is also the reason I don't get many photos of a particular ants for, like getting 6 or more photos from different angle, maybe when they are sleeping that will be a bigger chance. But when they are awake and on the hunt, that is another story. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmboHUjhTLV8EJizBFpg9A5ZYUgM2QJN4YZ6d3X5ESQm4T/p8120038.jpg) ![separator2.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMa7EifqXSjKGqGjSzs4d9eNGjhV129o5S1XYGh2hUVQ/separator2.png) This shiny black ant was wandering around a leaf, at first I just decided to be an observer, as I will never think I will be able to take the photo. But after sometimes, I notice it was so slow, and was moving like it was a lazy day. Then I decided to take the photos, and once it learn the sudden movement on the leaf because of my attempt to photograph, it become alerted, and started to moved around fast. I was lucky to be able to take these four first photo in this post od the same species. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZBpVXwrYCsuJnKC8TGPeBPcCLhxmGCJXwP5i22H9x8bC/p8120039.jpg) ![separator2.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMa7EifqXSjKGqGjSzs4d9eNGjhV129o5S1XYGh2hUVQ/separator2.png) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmTH72af9Sjn8GcPiwL93bpmNyhMPXf9ikfXjXRqi1cY4t/p8120040.jpg) ![separator2.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMa7EifqXSjKGqGjSzs4d9eNGjhV129o5S1XYGh2hUVQ/separator2.png) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmU1sgaGx5veaqYWdbL3nmn1gNU88GmoNji2QTap89WH2q/p8120041.jpg) ![separator2.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMa7EifqXSjKGqGjSzs4d9eNGjhV129o5S1XYGh2hUVQ/separator2.png) after losing the first ant species, I moved a little bit more to try to find another insect to photograph, then I get this grey, and hairy ants. This is even more skittish because it only allowed me to take only two photos of him, before running away. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmUv9Sw3MPAc4dLdid8qyBTbK7Mr7aR4MCvHsU7oqsm17X/p8120042.jpg) ![separator2.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMa7EifqXSjKGqGjSzs4d9eNGjhV129o5S1XYGh2hUVQ/separator2.png) ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmczDhtETdYk1Q4xAc2L46Z5Fef9kVxZmF7FUJ2JA3rQWJ/p8120043.jpg) ![separator2.png](https://images.ecency.com/DQmZMa7EifqXSjKGqGjSzs4d9eNGjhV129o5S1XYGh2hUVQ/separator2.png) | | | | | | | ------------ | ------------ | ------------ | ------------ | ------------ | | Photo Style | Macro Photography | | Accesory | 50 mm Canon lens + Adapter + Extension Tube | Location | Bali, Indonesia | |Lighting | External flash | | Gear | olympus Omd EM5 Mark ii | |Diffuser | Cekrek Diffuser | ||| |------------|------------| | http://imageshack.com/a/img923/931/WQlbl4.jpg |
