**The Suzuki method is the most widely used teaching method for learning to play the violin. It consists of several volumes, each of which introduces a new and increasingly complex technique for learning to play this beautiful instrument. It is taught in most violin courses, including the one I attended for a year, but before starting that course and with my previous violin, I had decided to learn the melodies from three volumes of this book on my own by watching YouTube videos to learn the technique and see how both hands move. That's when the algorithm recommended Jenny Yun's videos to me, and every time I learned a new melody, I watched her videos to hear how they sounded and see how the movements were done, even though I never learned them. I still had fun trying to play them, so I would like to share with you some of the melodies I like the most.**

**During the course, we learned eight of the seventeen melodies featured in the first volume, and at the end-of-course presentation, I played Long Long Ago and shared it here, although that was quite some time ago now. These are my two favorites, which is why I chose to play that melody even though I got nervous and lost my place, having to guide myself by ear and missing some notes. I don't think anyone noticed, though.** I had already learned all the melodies in this volume before starting the course, so you could say I cheated a little, but that's when I really understood some of the many mistakes I was making by learning on my own. Here I emphasize the importance of having a tutor to guide and orient you because not all of us are capable of learning on our own. I've already ruled out that possibility and I definitely need someone to teach me, but for now I'm having fun and relaxing for a while playing with my violin and trying to get the best sound out of it.
--- **En el curso llegamos a aprender 8 de las 17 melodías que trae el primer volumen y en la presentación de fin de curso yo toque Long Long Ago y lo compartí por aquí, aunque ya pasó bastante tiempo de eso. **Going back to the beginning, I kept learning more and more melodies and tried to memorize their sound by watching Jenny's videos. She is truly majestic when playing the violin, as I mentioned in my previous post about Czardas.** In Suzuki Volume 2, the degree of difficulty of the technique was already becoming apparent. These two melodies are my favorites, and in fact, I recorded myself playing **Musette** when I bought my current violin to test the difference in sound compared to my other violin. I won't share the video here because at the time I had no idea where the notes were, so I played the song in a cheeky and disrespectful way towards the music because no one was listening to me and because I was just playing around. I didn't even respect the tempo, but if you want to see it and enjoy my out-of-tune melody, you can ask me and I'll send it to you in the comments... **You have been warned!**
--- **Volviendo al inicio, yo seguía aprendiendo más y más melodías y trataba de memorizar el sonido de las mismas viendo los videos de Jenny que por cierto es majestuosa tocando el violín, ya la presente en mi anterior post con Czardas.** En el volumen 2 de Suzuki ya se empezaba a notar el grado de dificultad que iba tomando la técnica, estas dos melodías son las que más me gustan y de hecho yo me grabe tocando **Musette** cuando compre mi actual violín para probar la diferencia de sonido con respecto al otro violín. **And these melodies belong to volume 3, where the melodies already feel more complete and therefore more complex, but since I tend to be very cheeky when no one is looking, I decided to learn them too, and that's where I stopped because it was really too difficult for me and it was obvious that I wasn't at the right level to play them yet, I was just being daring.** Although I no longer remember most of these melodies because I stopped practicing them a long time ago, except for those in volume 1, I had a lot of fun trying to learn them and looking for Jenny Yun's videos to understand her sound and technique. It was a great help, and I remember practicing every night with my old violin until I bought a new one, which is the one I'm currently using, and started the course, where I had to start from scratch because I was literally doing everything wrong. There are many reasons why I haven't shared any videos of myself playing the violin yet. I say this because several people asked me when I would upload a video of myself playing. Well, that moment will have to wait, and maybe someday I'll share those reasons with you. --- **Y estas melodías pertenecen al volumen 3 donde las melodías ya se sienten más completas y por ende más complejas, pero como a escondidas suelo ser muy descarada, me anime a aprenderlas también y ahí puse un alto porque de verdad se me estaba dificultando demasiado y era obvio que yo todavía no estaba en un nivel adecuado para tocarlas, era solo de atrevida.** A pesar de que ya no recuerdo la gran mayoría de estas melodías porque hace tiempo que deje de practicarlas, salvo las del volumen 1, me divertí mucho tratando de aprenderlas y buscando los videos de Jenny Yun para comprender su sonido y técnica, fue un gran apoyo y recuerdo que las practicaba todas las noches con mi anterior violín, hasta que compre uno nuevo que es el que estoy usando actualmente y comencé el curso, donde tuve que empezar todo de 0 porque literal estaba haciendo todo mal. Hay muchas razones por las cuales aún no he compartido ningún video mío tocando el violín, esto lo digo porque varios me preguntaron cuándo subiría un video tocándolo, bueno, ese momento tendrá que esperar y quizá algún día les comparta cuáles son esos motivos, por el momento les dejare un spoiler sobre uno de ellos: ***¡No quieren escuchar un chirrido de ratas siendo asesinadas!***
