Two days ago, a heavy downpour brought wind, lightning, and thunder. The next morning, I was able to go out to the yard very early to inspect the damage and found some familiar mushroom species.
Hace dos días cayó un fuerte aguacero con viento, rayos y truenos. La mañana siguiente, muy temprano, pude salir al patio a revisar los estragos que dejó y encontré especies de setas 🍄 que ya conocía.
One of them is probably the same one I've been seeing on that side of the garden for a while.
Es probable que una de ellas sea de la misma que tengo tiempo viendo en ese lado del jardín.
At first, they are brown, with a hemispherical cap that gives them the appearance of small brown balls. The stem is light-colored.
Al principio son marrones, de sombrero semiesferico que les da aspecto de bolitas marrones. El estipite es claro.
They then become flat and concave, with much lighter, more distinct blades. The stipe also turns brown.
Después se vuelven planos y cóncavos, con láminas mucho más claras y separadas unas de otras. El estipite se vuelve también marrón.
Its edges fold upwards and end up looking like cups.
Sus bordes se doblan hacia arriba y terminan pareciendo copas.
When mushrooms that fell on the still-damp ground were collected, they quickly withered. This confirms that some genera in the Marasmiaceae family change appearance with changes in ambient humidity.
Al recoger las caídas al suelo aún húmedo se marchitaron rápido. Esto confirma que algunos géneros de la familia Marasmiaceae cambian de aspecto con variaciones de la humedad del ambiente.
I took some pictures of it with the magnifying glass and the macro lens.
Le tomé algunas fotos con la lupa y el lente macro.
I found curious the presence of an orange spot in the center of the cap of some of them.
Me pareció curiosa la presencia de una mancha anaranjada en el centro del sombrero de algunas de ellas.
