It's exciting to have new plants in your home, to see them bloom and bear fruit. @darioreuben brought some in a cut plastic container and placed them next to others in the garden, where they could receive direct sunlight.
Es emocionante tener nuevas plantas en casa, verlas florecer y dar frutos. @darioreuben trajo unas en un recipiente plástico cortado y las puso junto a otras en el jardin, donde pudieran recibir luz solar directa.
Hours later we noticed that its small buds opened, giving rise to flowers of three different colors, one of them with double petals.
Horas después nos dimos cuenta de que sus pequeños botones abrieron dando lugar a flores de tres colores diferentes, una de ellas de pétalos dobles.
I thought they were what we call "Eleven O'Clock Belle" here, and I wasn't that wrong.

Both are succulents that belong to the same genus as common purslane, Portulaca oleracea. This may be why they are also called purslane.
Ambas son suculentas que pertenecen al mismo género que la verdolaga común, Portulaca oleracea. Quizá por ello son llamadas también verdolaga.
But this variety does not grow like a weed and has a longer flowering period.
Pero esta variedad no crece como maleza y es de floración más duradera.
Its scientific name is Portulaca umbraticola, it is one of the 500 species of the family Portulacaceae and, apparently, has similar nutritional properties.
Su nombre científico es Portulaca umbraticola, es una de las 500 especies de la familia Portulacaceae y, al parecer, tiene similares propiedades nutritivas.
These, like Portulaca grandiflora, are actually part of the group that we also know as "flowering purslane."
