Hey everyone, first of all I hope you all had a pleasant weekend which has brought many interesting experiences into your life and that you are doing well! Today I would like to share again an experience I made while travelling and I am happy if you can learn new things.

Recently I shared something about my visit to the mysterious stone circles of Stonehenge and on the same day I also visited the famous Windsor Castle which is one of the most important cultural highlights of the country. The castle is located outside London and to get there you have to travel about 40 km and the unique thing here is that it's one of the best-known official residences of the British royal family which has been inhabited pretty much all the time since its foundation. Windsor was built during the Middle Ages in the 11th century and is even considered the largest inhabited castle in the world, which also plays a central role when it comes to international politics. The reason why the castle is also world-famous are the political meetings that take place here regularly and again and again high-ranking politicians meet here to have discussions about world events.

The special thing is that it was not built in a uniform style, but was expanded again and again in different styles over the generations and there were even some fires after the castle had to be renovated again. It's also considered a mystical place with numerous secret passages and places to escape and during the war members of the royal family have hidden in the cellar vaults and thus survived these times of crisis safely. There are also numerous other legends about Windsor and it is generally considered a mysterious place that is connected with different myths and in some of them is Windsor even called an haunted place.

Even if not all rooms can be entered, there are almost 1000 rooms here as well as a large park which is also used as a hunting ground for the royal family, but unfortunately I can only show pictures from the outside area because photography inside is not allowed and I can only advise everyone to respect this, as I have unfortunately seen some who have taken pictures anyway. I was lucky that I was one of the first visitors, but when I left the castle I saw a huge crowd and to queue there is certainly no fun, which is why I can definitely recommend being on site right after opening. Admission costs about 30 pounds and for everything that can be seen here the price is also fair and overall my visit here lasted two hours but it should be taken into account here that not all rooms can be visited which is not a problem with the variety that is offered here.
