Shortly before my departure from Hong Kong, I decided to visit the Palace Museum which is located just outside the city centre and is still relatively new. Although it was only built in 2022, it's now one of the most popular museums in the city, which welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors every year and similar to other museums, the operators have strongly focussed on promoting culture and there are also numerous workshops or other events to visit here and as I have noticed, there are also cooperations with other museums when it comes to the exchange with artworks. When I arrived I was lucky to have gotten in because there was just a power outage on the day which was fixed after a few minutes and the ticket can be bought in the entrance area at a machine unless it was already purchased online and in total my visit lasted about three hours.

The Palace Museum covers various different areas and from the history of ancient China to interactive things, there is a lot to offer here and even the architecture is from outside already an amazement. The ideology was to link more elements together during construction and even if there are numerous modern influences, it was very important to take care to put the traditional culture in the foreground and to meet this goal even more, huge importance was placed on creating an authentic atmosphere in which the history can be experienced up close. Some of the objects that are exhibited here are even considered the most important in the country, which includes some original treasures of the imperial families and even the construction was emphasised to integrating some elements of ancient China into the architecture.

In addition to the diversity, another factor are also the changing exhibitions and there are always news about special exhibitions that are planned in the future and if you want to stay up to date, it's best to visit the website. The construction was not quite cheap and hundreds of millions of Dollars were invested in the construction and here it is important to mention that there was even a noble donor who had financed most of the museum, so it was created by private funds. I can only recommend every visitor to the city to just make a picture for themselves and experience this highlight in real and think it's a unique museum because of the different influences that can be found here.
