Tras dos victorias iniciales, los cubanos cedieron en 3 ocasiones consecutivas y tendrán que jugar la ronda de consuelo ante rivales de menor envergadura. Lo dije en mi última entrega, tras la derrota frente a Puerto Rico por 1-0, era muy difícil la clasificación a la siguiente ronda, ya que el último rival era Corea del Sur.
En el último partido de la fase de grupos, los nuestros cedieron por 3-0 ante los surcoreanos. Los cubanos extendieron a 22 entradas en linea sin anotar carreras, y en este juego solo conectaron 1 indiscutible. En total de los 21 bateadores retirados, 14 fueron por la via del ponche, entre ellos 3 emergentes usados por los cubanos.
