Comienzo de esta manera, para comentarles lo sucedido en las últimas horas respecto al movimiento deportivo cubano en la arena internacional. A pesar del apagón grandísimo que hemos sufrido los cubanos, me las he arreglado para traerles este post, ya que me gusta mucho hablar de los deportistas de mi país.
Comienzo por lo hecho por los muchachos del equipo de béisbol de la categoría Sub-18. A pesar de que se encuentran jugando la ronda de consolación, los chicos ya aseguraron el séptimo lugar del torneo, un resultado, a todas luces positivo, pero muchos saben que queríamos estar en la súper ronda con las 6 mejores del mundo. En la víspera vencieron cerradamente a Alemania por 4-3.

Conozco que los alemanes son potencia en el fútbol, con 4 titulos del orbe, sin embargo en los últimos años han experimentado un avance en el béisbol, no al nivel de Paises Bajos o Italia, pero ya están haciendo buen papel en los campeonatos europeos de mayores. Los cubanos tuvieron que venir de atrás con racimo de 3 carreras en la cuarta entrada por doble con la casa llena del quinto madero José Luis Zambrano.

Cambiando de tema, el conocido como buque insignia del deporte cubano aseguró la tercera y última medalla dentro del campeonato mundial de Liverpool. El jovencito Alejandro Claro aseguró su segunda medalla mundial, igualando su actuación del último mundial.
En su pelea por medalla de bronce venció por votación dividida de 3-2 al turco Samet Gumus. Claro tendrá una pelea durísima en semifinales cuando enfrente al kazajo que es el tercero del ranking en su división. Espero que nuestro púgil pueda llegar lejos y pueda disputar su primera final mundial.
