El béisbol internacional no se detiene, y los cubanos son protagonistas de dichos eventos en donde no falta la valentía con la que enfrentan estos acontecimientos. **Copa Panamericana Sub-23:**
El próximo 29 de septiembre arrancará en tierras panameñas, el campeonato panamericano de béisbol para menores de 23 años, que dará 3 plazas para la Copa del Mundo de dicha categoría. El elenco cubano fue ubicado en el grupo B, y sus rivales serán Bahamas, Islas Vírgenes Norteamericanas y Puerto Rico. En el papel aparentemente parece ser un grupo "asequible" para los cubanos, pero no debe haber en mi opinión exceso de confianza ya que todos los equipos son de respeto y más con las decepciones que ha sufrido el equipo cubano en los últimos años.
En la nómina oficial figuran peloteros con experiencia en ligas foráneas, son los casos del jugador de cuadro Cristian Rodríguez, el receptor Harold Vazquez y los lanzadores Randy Martinez, Dario Sarduy y Rafael Perdomo. Además que cuentan con un grupo de talentosos peloteros como el santiaguero Raider Sánchez que fue el líder jonronero de la última serie nacional Sub-23 y en la actual contienda beisbolera para mayores, ya ha conectado 6 cuadrangulares.

Espero con muchas ansias que el equipo cubano pueda dar un espectáculo positivo y que logre clasificar al mundial, que esto obviamente les dará puntos para seguir ascendiendo en el ranking mundial.
**Campeonato Panamericano Femenino:**
Las damas también pueden jugar béisbol, y el que diga lo contrario tiene un serio problema de machismo. Las chicas estarán en el torneo panamericano que se disputará en México a partir de la próxima semana, en donde salen ampliamente como favoritas a llevarse el título y uno de los boletos en disputa para el campeonato mundial del próximo año.
La capitana de las cubanas, la pinareña Libia Duarte, debe ser una de las piezas angulares de este equipo, ya que en otros eventos ha sido segunda o tercera en el orden al bate. Sin lugar a dudas, el desarrollo del béisbol femenino en Cuba le ha dado un favoritismo a nivel regional, y también le compiten con fuerza a las grandes potencias de Asia.

Considero que las muchachas pueden clasificarse sin problemas al mundial ya que cuentan con un núcleo sólido de jugadoras que han competido al más alto nivel y están algunas insertadas en ligas extranjeras.
**Mundial Sub-18 de Béisbol 5:**
Para los que no conocen, el Baseball-5 es un deporte no olímpico recién implementado y que tiene en la categoría de mayores a Cuba, Japón y Francia como los países con más palmarés en el corto tiempo de creado oficialmente este deporte. Precisamente, Japón será sede de este torneo en el cual están presentes paises como México, Sudáfrica, Países Bajos, Corea del Sur, y los mencionados Cuba, Francia y el anfitrión Japón.

Oficialmente se juega con 4 jugadores, 3 hombres y una mujer, y existe un quinto jugador que sirve como emergente o sustituto. Los cubanos tendrán una competencia muy reñida, pero pienso que puedan regresar a casa con una de las medallas en disputa. Lo cierto es que tenemos tela por donde cortar y en los pocos años del Baseball-5, somos potencia a nivel global.

Pan American U-23 Cup
On September 29, the Pan American Baseball Championship for under-23 players will kick off in Panama, which will award three spots for the World Cup in this category.
