A Housewarming to Remember

1000016657.jpg Yesterday, I went to my cousin’s housewarming party, and wow—I still can’t get over their new place. It’s a three-storey duplex, but honestly, it felt more like checking into a hotel than visiting someone’s house. Everywhere I turned, there was something fun to see or do. 1000016685.jpg 1000016686.jpg The first thing that caught my eye was the infinity pool. It looked so inviting, stretching out with a view that made me feel like I was on a quick vacation. Some of us hung out by the water while others jumped in right away. I was tempted too, but I ended up just dipping my feet and enjoying the atmosphere. 1000016653.jpg 1000016668.jpg Inside, they had a mini gym that looked so complete I couldn’t help but joke, “No excuses for being lazy here!” Then there was the court outside where everyone took turns playing badminton and pickleball. The kids loved running around with their rackets, while some of the adults got surprisingly competitive.

Later on, a ping pong table became the center of attention. I joined a few rounds, though I admit my hand-eye coordination is not the best. Still, it was fun just laughing at our misses and cheering for those who actually knew how to play well. Meanwhile, a quieter group gathered around the Mahjong area. I passed by a few times and saw how seriously they were taking their game—it was like its own little world in there. 1000016659.jpg 1000016670.jpg 1000016658.jpg What really made the night special, though, wasn’t just the house or all the amenities (though those were amazing). It was the feeling of everyone being together—family, friends, good food, and lots of laughter filling up the space. Even in such a grand place, it still felt homey and warm.

As I headed home, I thought about how their housewarming wasn’t just about showing off a beautiful new house. It was about celebrating milestones and creating memories. And for me, it’s one of those days I know I’ll remember fondly.
