Just a few weeks ago, our countryside was lovely and green, but it's amazing how quickly nature changes.
Although it was a little overcast the view from the top was still stunning.
As autumn approaches, the first hints of heather are appearing. In a couple of weeks, the moors will be covered in lovely pink and purple heather. Of course, heather provides a food source for insects and is a good habitat for various birds.
On a sunny day the yellow gorse and broom bushes can look really pretty as well. Even though both have yellow flowers the gorse is quite prickly as opposed to the brooms being smooth.
It will be nice to have a ride out later on and see the transformation. There will also be bilberries to pick on the bilberry bushes.
