I spotted a poster in the village advertising 'Brick Fest', an event that celebrates Lego and happens all over England. This is only the second time our village has put on the event. Apparently, adults and children who have any Lego models that they wish to put on display at the village church can do so.
The event was free, which is always attractive. So, in between the rain showers, I walked up to the church. While I was looking at the iconic British phone box and New York's Empire State Building the woman who was overseeing the event came up to welcome me. I told her I'd specifically come up to see the Star Wars Lego models.
She enthusiastically told me that there were actually two Millennium Falcons on display! One had the top off so you could see inside. She was more excited than I was. I love a nerd ...
There was also the Dark Falcon which is a LEGO creation. It didn't actually appear in the Star Wars movies or TV shows.
The models I really wanted to see were Dark Vader, Yoda and R2D2.
The Poe Dameron's X-wing fighter appears in "The Force Awakens", "The Rise of Skywalker" and "The Last Jedi".
There were a few models that you wouldn't think were made out of Lego until you looked closely.
There was one model for the Harry Potter fans.
All good fun for a rainy afternoon!
