There has been a lot of tree felling in this forest this year, although it isn't very nice seeing trees being cut down, some are diseased. Also, there are parts of the forest that are very dense, so some trees don't get much sunlight. Once they are selected to be thinned out, there will be more sun getting through to allow the other trees to prosper. There will also be restocking taking place.
It is always misty in the forest during autumn time. I'm used to taking photos in particular spots as the mist hangs on the trees. Now there is more daylight, it will be interesting where the mist will hang.
I noticed many more areas where the sun was shining through. Normally, I can't see through the trees but this time I could see more blue sky and into the distance where the footpath takes me.
There's a campsite nearby so sometimes visiting children do a bit of nature art in the forest.
I did notice a lot of pine cones on the floor. They looked like dog turds in the photo. I brought some home with me as I have learnt how to make small wreaths with pine cones and willow.
