I popped into my local town today, something I rarely do. Some of the shops I've previously used have closed down for good, or have moved to a retail park where there is free parking for customers. High car parking fees and high rent for shops and market stall holders have all contributed to fewer visitors.
As I was walking through the bus shelters, the sun reminded me of the Shadow Hunter's competition!
My home town is a market town with old cobbles in the market place. The cobbles are being re-laid making it more accessible to wheelchair users, people with other mobility issues and families with child buggies. Work has been going on for some time so I walked over there to see how it was getting on. It was a lovely sunny morning so I found plenty of shadows.
Even though they are making the floor flatter in some parts they are keeping some cobbles, as they are an important part of the town's history. It wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t break your neck at least once a week!
This is my entry to the Shadow Hunter's Competition - 387. Thank you to @melinda010100 and the team for hosting the contest.
