I would probably be organising a real world festival to christen the launch of Liketu. But alas, we are here, with Omicron threatening to linger around and cause trouble for quite some time more. What better way than to spend the uncertain time getting to know everybody if not presented with the opportunity to in real life?
Liketu has been a difficult journey. A long one too. But I think the Hive community represents resilience and perseverance. I believe these aforementioned qualities will more than secure our future, but, it is now up to us - the community, to make Hive what we want it to be and how we want to shape that future moving forward.
I may not be a photographer (though nowadays, many would argue having a phone and a willingness to snap qualifies you) but I enjoy taking photos and I also enjoy seeing people tell their stories through their photos too. I have always responded more to visual stimuli than words. This of course is the founding theme of Liketu (Like图)
But regardless of whether you're a photographer, an artist, or someone with something to say. Liketu gives you another way to share your experiences, and engage with potentially a whole new cohort of people, perhaps an audience that has yet to arrive here on Hive. I'm excited to see what happens regardless.
Though I'm sure you'll want to see what we're getting up to at Liketu HQ - And there will be plenty of stuff to share moving forwards - this will be a more personal blog, a journey through my lens of what is going on working on Liketu but also tidbits of my life which may inspire what comes next.
I am glad to be on this journey with you all. Hopefully many of you will join me at Liketu and we can make some wonderful memories together. This is just the beginning.
- Elmer (not El Merlin lol!)
P.S
I realise there will be many questions, and probably a tonne of bugs to report. We will address those through the @liketu account which I invite you all to follow.
