Anger is mostly considered as a bad emotion especially, when you do not possess the capacity to manage it. No one will feel good when someone close to us lashes out in anger. No one wants to be close to someone who is angry. ‎ ‎Most people don't enjoy being angry any more than they enjoy being the focus of someone else's anger. It is generally believed that when we become angry we can deal with its true source, in which case it will soon dissipate: otherwise, we can react to the situation or to the other person by expressing our anger or retain it and store it up. ‎ ‎To be clear, expressing anger creates the negative consequences of hurting others and ourselves in the process. Storing up anger or burying it isn't any better. It produces resentment and bitterness and will ultimately poison thoughts. Sooner or later, you will not be able to hold your resentment back any longer and from that point forward you will find yourself with an explosive temper that can be triggered by even tiny irritations. ‎ ‎However, scripture cautions, "A wise man restrains his anger and overlooks insults. This is to his credit " [Proverbs 19:11 TLB]. We should control anger for these three reasons; anger creates contention, anger drives others away from us and anger lowers our self-esteem and the self-esteem of others.
