There are certain character traits that are seen in a person that pronounces him or her to be a christian. One of them is a life of prayer. Prayer is a means by which we communicate to our Father in heaven. Prayer is also a means of fellowship. Fellowship did not start in our present day. It started right from the time of our first parents when God came into the garden to have direct fellowship with them.
But after they fell that was not the case anymore. However, God still made it possible that we can communicate with Him. Prayer is something that is really needed in the life of a christian. The disciples of Jesus knew how important prayer is because they saw how Jesus engaged in it and the positive effect that accompanied it which made them to ask Jesus how to teach them how to pray as we see in Luke 11:1-4.
There is no second that we spend in prayer that is a waste. Prayer should not be an occasional activity. Some people only pray when they are in church or in a christian gathering. This is not supposed to be so. Prayer should be more of a lifestyle — something we engage in day by day. Think of it like talking to your heavenly Father everyday because he would always love to hear from you just the same way as your earthly father would love the same.
