Topic Review: Hearing but not listening to God's word

Hearing is simply an indication that our ears are working find and can pick up sounds. People who are deaf don't have the ability to pick up sounds. But as for listening, it takes a lot more than just picking up sounds. It takes paying attention and interpreting this sounds. ‎ ‎Bringing this to christianity and God's Word, it takes more than just hearing God's Word. A lot of people hear God's Word. Christianity is the most popular faith preached across the world. Even the Holy Bible is the most popular book read. But not everybody that hears this word of God that actually listens to it. We can't listen and without hearing, but it is very possible to hear without listening. ‎ ‎That is the problem of most people today. They hear God's Word but do not listen. God doesn't intend for us to just hear His Word, but to listen as well. We don't gain much if we just hear God's Word. Where the true impact takes place is when we listen to God's Word. When we listen to His Word it enters our spirits, and that is where it takes root and builds us up spiritually. ‎ ‎Listening to God's Word is never a waste of time. On the contrary, it is one of the best investment we can get ourselves involved in. We should not listen to the voice of man or what our present circumstances are saying, we should only listen to what God is saying.
