Topic Review: I want to do God's will but I can't stop doing bad things

What the spirit wants is far the different from what the flesh desires. The christian journey requires total surrender. When we surrender we lose authority over ourselves. There are certain battles that we can't fight on our own. We'll need the help of God to be able to fight it. ‎ ‎The devil knows the importance of God's will in our lives and how observing them can bring about transformation and that is why he would do anything in his power to ensure that we deviate from it. He does this by sending distractions our way. We should hold tight unto God in everything that we do. The slightest grip that we lose may lead to the devil having his way into our lives and this can lead to disaster. ‎ ‎Zechariah 4:6 ‎Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. ‎ ‎Depending on our capacity is a futile thing to do. Our flesh can disappoint us. It is not something we should rely on. But the spirit of God is reliable at all times. But God's spirit won't force itself on us. We need to have a willing heart. We have to invite Him into our lives. Jesus knew that at every point in our lives we'll need help and so He sent us the Holy Spirit. Whatever we are struggling with, as long as we take it to him in all sincerity we are certain of receiving help. ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎
