Desde los 17 años se enamoró de este deporte, al cual le ha entregado su vida entera generándole muchas satisfacciones y gratos momentos; Asimismo Digson forma parte del primer Club de Rugby creado en el municipio Zamora, Caronte Rugby Club, cuyo fundador es el señor Pedro Vera, es conocido por jugar en la posición de flanker ( Ala o Tercera Línea) y actualmente compite en la Primera División de RUGBY XV con el Araguaney Rugby Club y en la modalidad Seven siempre ha vestido los colores de Caronte en todos los torneos que sean posibles, es importante destacar que en el 2023 este Club Villacurano llegó a las semifinales del Torneo Seven de Santa Teresa ( donde participaron equipos de España, Brasil, Colombia y Ecuador), por si fuera poco Jaramillo también ha incursionado en el Rugby Playa con el Club Caronte.

En este sentido este atleta villacurano es un promotor constante de esta disciplina y que junto al Club siempre están en procesos de captación permanentes, ya sea en colegios y comunidades de todo el municipio. En febrero de este año viaje con el Equipo Caronte a la Hacienda Santa Teresa, en el Consejo, Municipio José Rafael Revenga del estado Aragua (La Meca del Rugby en Venezuela), para ver los primeros Partidos de La Primera División de este deporte y, de esta manera confirmamos el liderazgo y ejemplo que representa Digson para Caronte, todo desde el respeto y la fraternidad, es de poco palabras pero se nota su espíritu de Guerrero, respira 100% el rugby con una garra indomable y algo sumamente importante defiende con el alma los Colores del Equipo villacurano. Su manera de jugar es como la de un Jefe de alguna tribu siempre dando la cara por su gente, juega cada pelota como si fuera la última jugada, precisamente por estas características se ha ganado el respeto de su equipo y de toda la familia del Rugby en Venezuela.

Por otra parte Digson es un gran jugador, por ese motivo fue llamado a la Selección Nacional de RUGBY XV (modalidad con la cual Venezuela tenía siete años sin participar en eventos internacionales) siendo así la primera vez que viste los colores patrios, participando en la Etapa 1 de las Eliminatorias Sudamericanas, rumbo al Mundial de Australia en el 2027, torneo que se realizó en Medellín, Colombia, del 25 al 29 de septiembre del 2024. “Es una satisfacción muy grande participar en la Selección Nacional de RUGBY XV, el deporte que tanto amo, es una pasión muy grande, un orgullo” afirmó el mismo Jaramillo quien estuvo por dos semanas de gira con el conjunto nacional donde se sintió como jugador profesional lo cual ha sido una experiencia “Para mejorar física y mentalmente mi juego. Es algo único, creo que es el Top de lo que desea todo atleta de cualquier deporte: Representar a su país” puntualizo el también Contador Público graduado en la Universidad Nacional Experimental Rómulo Gallegos (UNERG).

Dicho torneo en Colombia fue de un alto nivel de organización, allí participaron las selecciones de Costa Rica, Perú, Colombia y Venezuela, un evento de eliminaciones directas de Prima Ronda para clasificar al Mundial, el primer partido fue ante Perú y se ganó de muy buena manera y pasaron a la final contra Colombia (luego de que los neogranadinos derrotaran a los Ticos), Colombia se llevó el torneo, pero con una Venezuela que jugó un excelente Rugby durante los primeros 60 minutos.
