Today, I'm super excited to share with you a DIY project that's been on my mind for a while now – turning an old school bag into a mini purse! 📚👜. I know, it sounds crazy, but trust me, it's going to be fabulous!
I was cleaning my closet and found an old school bag. I was going to throw it away, but then I thought, "Why not make something new out of it?" 💡 And that's exactly what I did!
The best part about this project is that I put in a lot of hard work and dedication. I faced some challenges along the way, like trying to get the zipper to fit just right and making sure my stitches were even. Sewing can be tricky, especially when working with thick fabric! 😬

Materials
*Old school bag
* Scissors (my trusty sidekick)
*Black thread
*Needle
*Ribbon (optional, but oh so pretty!)
*Lighter (for that extra oomph!)
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
First things first, I pulled out the zipper from the old bag. It was a bit stuck, but I managed to get it out. Then, I removed some excess fabric, and voila! 🎉

Next, I cut out two rectangular pieces of fabric, making sure they were equal in size. The bag had two colors – black and design side – which added a pop of color to the purse!

Now, it was time to attach the zipper. I trimmed it to fit, but it was a bit fiddly to get it just right. 😂

Sewing is my favorite part, but it's also the most challenging! I had to be patient and make sure my stitches were neat and smooth. After sewing, I cut out the excess thread, and it was looking good!

To prevent the zipper from coming loose, I used a lighter to secure it. It was a bit nerve-wracking, but it worked like a charm! 🔥

Finally, I sewed around the body of the mini purse and turned it right side out. And... ta-da! 🎉 My mini purse was born!
The result? A super cute and functional mini purse that's perfect for a night out or a quick errand! 👜👗 I hope you love it as much as I do!
