 Cabbage is one of the most cheapest and available vegetable in Nigeria. It grows in areas that often experience rainfall frequently. Cabbage is of different varieties or types but this particular one is green cabbage. You transplant cabbage after four weeks of planting from the nursery. And while planting cabbage you gives a little space between the rows for gap between them. Cabbage does not required plenty fertilizer except NPK or even waste products of poultry droppings can be applied to cabbage and it will yield good.  You needs to applied proper chemicals for adequate treatment to avoid pest or disease like cutworms, cabbage loper from destroying or damaging your cabbage farm. Most of the cabbage farm takes about 8 months or approximately 120 days to gain it maturity stage before harvesting. A good cabbage yield can bring forth more than 30 tons of cabbage. This cabbage farm is purposely for business usage. We have some restaurants in the community that buys cabbage from us almost everytime we harvested our cabbage.  During harvesting period, we will go to farm and cut the heads of the cabbage with a sharp knife at their firm stage and take it home. We have been farming cabbage for a very long time now and I can attest to the success and profitable gain my family has gotten over the past years for farming cabbage. When you doesn't store the cabbage very well and in a good condition it will spoil though cabbage doesn't spoil on time but due to overstayed and improper storage it will spoil and got rotten.  Cabbage is a cheap vegetable that's affordable and is available everywhere. Cabbage being a vegetable is good for health and your body immune system for proper functioning. Eating cabbage frequently reduce gut bacteria for healthy condition. We have so many different types of cabbage like red cabbage, Chinese cabbage and green cabbage. But this one is particularly a green cabbage, and green cabbage has more vitamin K in itself. When I was done cutting the heads of the cabbage with a sharp knife at their firm I packed it in a basket and took it home then select the good ones for business purposes and took it to the market.  In my house, we will cook rice and eat with cabbage as salad, and at times we will cut the cabbage in a large qualities and add milk, fried groundnut and mix as salad plainly and eat. But having enough cabbage at home is not good and besides only my house people will not be able to finished eating this cabbage we harvested from the farm.  That's why we farm cabbage for purpose business because the rate of cabbage consumption is not much compared to the rate at which we take it to the market for business purposes. As farmers, always try to farm something new you have never farmed before, it's part of farming experience.  Don't be afraid of starting a new crop, go ahead and start planting new crops and expand your knowledge of different varieties of crops. Only few farmers has had an experienced about farming cabbage. It's a good and lucrative business when it comes to farming system. It's a source of income to you and your family if you farm it very well.
