While cutting or harvesting our Egusi in the farm today, we killed a big snake that almost bite one of the farmer or worker. // Some of the risks famers faced while farming in the farm.

 We went to farm today and were cutting or harvesting our Egusi when we heard a sound from one of the Egusi that was gather close to a nearby bush. At first we thought the sound is coming from movement of a frog or lizard but we never thought of a snake at a moment. We were five persons that went to the farm, carrying our cutlass along because we went to the farm to cut the Egusi we gather for some days ago.  My father looked for four boys to go and help out with the farm work since the Egusi is much and asked me to go along with them. Last year we got about 6 bags of Egusi in the farm and this year my father planted and expanded the land so we could enlarged the planting of the Egusi. The Egusi is much, it has produced so many seeds and we went to the farm to cut it so it could be due for harvesting as time goes on.  We were working, cutting the Egusi at our different places and location when one of the farmer spoke out loud seems he is seeing something is moving at a particular place and the grass is moving slowing along with the thing. Then I said to him Benjamin, don't worry it might be frog or possibly a lizard that's making that moved you are seeing. Don't be curious let's work fast so that we can go home on time .  I guess he felt it in his mind or his conscious didn't accept it. So he used his cutlass and scattered the area, the place he was hearing or seeing like something is moving in that particular place. When he used his cutlass to touch the ground he noticed is a snake and he shout snake aloud. We all stood still with our cutlasses on our hands and asked him where exactly is the snake is. Already when Benjamin shouted snake he ran from the place he was cutting the Egusi and the snake ran and enter the nearby bush.  We all followed the snake to the nearby bush wanting to kill it. We were in the bush scattering the grass and checking the bushing when one of the farmer nearly match the tale of the snake and he jumped up shouting the snake is here and we ran towards the direction he matched the snake. The snake was running in the bush while we were also running chasing it. It was a hard battle we fought and killed the snake finally.  One of the farmer ran very fast and hit the snake on the head and the snake couldn't run any faster anymore but lying down sluggishly. It was then we all noticed it was a very big snake. We were so shocked seeing this big snake lying down sluggishly and unconsciously , wondering what could have happened if this snake bite any of us while working in the farm.  We quickly cut off the head of the snake, leaving the body still lying down helplessly. The farmer or man that matched the tale of the snake earlier said he could have die instantly or been hospitalized if this big snake had bite him earlier. The snake was so big, very long and huge in size.  Others said is python, or viper, Cobra or a brown house snake. But of a truth I have never seen this kind of snake in my entire life before, not especially this kind of a very big snake. While other guys we were working are snapping and taking pictures with the snake, holding the snake in their hands and rolling it in their body just laughing amazingly and taking pictures with it because everyone is amazed seeing this kind of big snake.   I was just standing looking at the big snake, wondering the kind of risks famers faced or goes through while farming in the bushes just to get food for their personal and business purposes in the farm. I was standing still looking at the snake and wondering what if this snake bite someone while working in the farm? Wound the person survived the snake's bite or not? Is this the kind of risks some farmers faced and went through in the farm? These questions kept coming to my mind and I was just thinking and pondering on it.  Honestly is it God that delivered us from the deadly hands of the evil or this deadly poisonous snake today. Farmers working in the farm, bushes are facing through some challenges that only God delivered them.  We have heard of some farmers that got biten by snakes and die in the farm or bush while farming. I have heard of some farmers who got injured by tractors, chemical splash on their face and burnt their faces. Seriously farming is not easy, and the farmers often encounter some challenges in the farm that the buyers doesn't know about it.   Well, we were happy nothing bad has happened to anyone today in the farm. When we killed the snake, we cut the remaining Egusi in the farm and took the snake home. Today farm work was a bit hectic because of the challenge we faced but we are alive and healthy.
