CLOUT OVER CHARACTER || THE NEW NORMAL

... The world really has changed, there was a time when people actually cared about how they spoke to other people, how they behaved in public and how they treat each other.

But now, it's just like the while concept of respect has been thrown out the window into God knows where. What used to be wrong is now normal.

These days, I came to see that people who talk back, who are rude and loud are seen as the ones who are confident and real. It's now as if being the decent and calm 'you' means you're weak.

I remember the time when you couldn't just talk anyhow to people, especially to someone older than you. Even amongst your friends, there was a limit of what you would say before you crossed the line.

I think social media adds to this because people now crave attention. And the easiest way to get attention is by being rude or controversial. Some people will literally pick fights online to trend.

They would video themselves shouting and acting all crazy and in the next hours, they would have a thousand views or likes.. They would post all sorts of nonsense just for the likes and attention? I mean...come on. They think that's just the normal way of living.

We now live in a world that the louder you are, the more people listen to you. Not because whatever you are saying actually makes sense, but because of drama and believe me when I say drama sells.

There's a big difference between speaking up and talking down on people. Confidence is when you express yourself without having to step on other people.

Everyone wants to go viral now and they would do anything even if it means disrespecting others and doing all sorts of rubbish. We're slowly creating a place where toxic and anyhow behavior is celebrated.

Kids who are just growing up are seeing how their characters brings fame, how their craziness brings followers. And they're picking it up too.

I saw a post online where a girl was just rubbing her body all over mud just for the views. Everyone wants to be seen but they are doing it the wrong way. I mean you don't have to embarrass yourself just to feel important.

Maybe it's not the world that changed, maybe it's our mindset.

If we keep up with this attitude, normalize we'll soon get to a point where nobody listens to anybody anymore.

We should stop celebrating all the wrong things. I think the world already has enough noise.
