Health refers to the general well-being of the body. This implies both physically and mentally. Until we are able to secure a balance between the two, I am afraid, we are not healthy.
There are a lot of people who are physically healthier than they are mentally than those who are mentally healthier than they are physically and there are only a few who strike the balance between the two.
It is easier to maintain physical health than mental health. Is it easy to notice that your body is swelling, it is easy to notice that you are losing weight, it is easy to notice that you are becoming obese but it takes time to notice that you are losing your mind.
The thing starts gradually, probably from one worry to another and continues to drain you until you totally lose it.
The funny part is that people barely notice when something is wrong with our minds. The reason is because most people can be going through hell mentally but still look fit and smart on the outside.
A person can be suffering from depression yet, dresses well, looks healthy and smiles with everyone like everything is okay.
This is why in some cases of suicide people get surprised when they hear that the victims were suffering from depression. Everything looks fine with them but deep inside, they were so sick.
Most people are careless about their mental health, they allow just anything that is able to make its way into their head to become a problem.
I know that our world is full of trouble but worries, anxieties, sadnesses don't take them away.

Unfortunately, if you allow those things to deteriorate your mental health now that you are looking strong, at the point when you are supposed to start enjoying life, they will arise and not only affect you mentally but physically as well.
Sometimes, when I see good looking people suffering from high blood pressure, I feel bad but what can I do?
As much as we want to look good and healthy physically, it is wise to also be mindful of our mental health. No matter how fit the physical body is, once something is wrong with the mental health, it will only be a matter of time before the physical body is affected too.
In view of this, we need to find a way to balance the two. Such that both the physical and mental health are fit.
*Here are a few ways to achieve it.*
Practice self love: most people love others more than themselves, they are careless about their bodies and their mind but so concerned about that of others.
To ensure that your mental health and physical health are okay, you need to love yourself. This way, you will give attention to your body, by eating properly, going for checks, staying away from things that can deteriorate your health and exercising regularly to keep your body fit.
You will also be careful with how you allow challenges and trials to weigh you down. You would cherish your mind and your thoughts, feeding it with positivity and relevant information. This way, your mind would be like a beautiful and fertile garden.
Another thing I think we can do to strike the balance is learn how to open up to those we trust whenever we are faced with depression. They say a problem shared is a problem solved.
This will help reduce the burden, and probably bring a permanent solution to whatever is weighing us down.
Getting enough rest is another important thing that can keep both our physical and mental health sound. As much as it is relevant to work, it is also crucial to rest.
After having a long day, it is wise to take some time and sleep to relax our brains and bodies. This will reduce stress both physically and mentally.
Our mental health is as important as our physical health, if we fail to ensure that it is sound and we focus only on physical health, soon the physical body will disappoint us too.
