Can The Good Old Days Be Revived?

Times have changed. A lot has been altered, gone are the days when people work not necessarily to make a living out of it but to fulfill purpose. Sadly, the place of passion and purpose is missing in our society. Day by day, businesses are springing up, people are coming up with schools, hospitals, and so on, not because they want to contribute positively to the society but because they are looking for means to survive. People are no longer interested in what they love to do, they don't care whether it is in sync with their passion and interest, as long as money is involved, they would not hesitate to try it. I have heard people say “work nowadays is not about having the knowledge, what you studied doesn't matter, just come to the field and you would learn through experience.” Most people are not into the professions they dreamed of. Things like these are common in my country. Lack of opportunities has really affected people. People would spend money and time in school only to graduate and not have something to do, so, I understand completely with anyone in that condition. If you say people should do what they love and have passion for, a lot of people would be without businesses and jobs. Our government is corrupt, opportunities are scarce, people have to try to look for how to survive even if it's not what they want. I have a friend who studied biology but is currently working in the bank and she is doing well. If you were in her shoes would you reject the job offer because it is not your field and it's not what you want? But as much as I don't blame people for doing jobs they don't have passion for but for the money, I also have a concern, the rate of incompetence in jobs has grown drastically recently. I know it's not what they want to do, you don't expect them to do it with passion but at least, since it's giving you food, you should take time to learn how to do it well and deliver excellently. I went to a clinic for treatment sometime ago, and one of the nurses assigned to attend to me couldn't locate my vein to put IV drip. This lady punctured my hand to the extent that I forgot that I was sick. At the end, I pleaded with her to call someone who is experienced. People are now careless with their jobs and don't really give it their all because love is absent in it. I really miss the old good days when passion was the lead for everything, things were different back then, the authenticity of goods and services was top-notch. But can things really go back to that state? I doubt so. People are now used to the easy route. And the government too is not ready to make opportunities in different fields to fit everyone's passion and dreams. Do you think it is going to be easy? Well maybe in other countries but in mine, I doubt the possibility. Unless a provision is made for people to have where to work based on what they love, things can never go back to normal and unfortunately, I don't see my government doing that anytime soon. On the side of the people, money is now everything, where the big fish is, that is always where everyone would desire to go. Sometimes it's not even about the lucrativeness, it's about getting the opportunity and remaining paid, escaping the lashes of unemployment. ![](https://images.ecency.com/DQmb3Kn1BuZ75C3v9xUc3SzwaDgWzV1V6gtC89UywHQA9Rt/1762241116191.jpg) Things have changed, sometimes, I feel like weeping when I see how rotten our society is becoming and there is no sign of remedy anywhere close. --------- N.B: All Images Were Generated By Meta AI -------
