#### First Impressions

First impressions are the ones that last the longest.
The first feet on the ground at this site I found on HipCamp, were pleasantly pleased.
The cabin itself, boasted to sleeping 8 people, which was not a lie. You can see the stairs off to the left of the main floor that lead up to the loft area. There were three beds up there and a clubhouse feel.
A bunk bed was nestled in the corner as soon as you enter, there was a comfortable couch in the small living room and a twin bed in the one actual bedroom.
I was hoping more people were going to join us on this trip, but neither my mother (who is old and not feeling much like being out of the house) nor my eldest son, @dr460n3y3, were able to make it.
All the girlies were there though! Our current live in, my youngest son @b34w0lf, joined us for the trip. (He better get his ass in the military already, already. His welcome is real close to being worn out, love him though.) And of course, we brought all four dogs. 🐕
Anyways, as we explored, we found several ponds and a few other structures. Some neat signs about the property and some old school toys!

Before we could move in for the weekend though, we had to relocate the current residents. Those just happened to be some little rodents, these cute mice! Moving them reminded me of a show we watched recently called 'Nature's Nightmares' on Netflix. And no girls, for the tenth time, we are not taking them home. 🐁

As for other cool critters and foliage, there wasn't much out of the ordinary and suffice to say, aside from the normal fungal shelves on firewood, there wasn't much for mushrooms @stresskiller. There was though, plenty of makers of the song!

And with all those trees around? I would be ashamed of myself if I didn't honor the request to put up a few hammocks! One in particular, was a two person one, that actually fits four or five people. The strength of the material is the questionable part 🤣 but they all enjoyed the trees.

For me, this trip would have been perfect EXCEPT for what happened Saturday night while I tended the fire. You know I love fire. But I don't love getting stabbed in the foot. Especially with a fucking rusty ass nail.

Needless to say, I was not a very happy camper after that. As I stepped on that plank of wood, the rot crumbled part of it, causing me to lose my footing, flipping the wood and exposing the nail that drove itself into my toe. Thankfully, it was just my toe as I felt the pierce interrupt the integrity of my shoe and so laid my foot down gentle as I could, but knowing something was about to stab me.
We'll say three out of five stars, mainly because of the musty odor that was a steady complaint and of course, my foot getting maimed. But it was fun. The dogs and girls loved it. What did you do these past few weeks that was shocking to the extremities? Did you REMEMBER TO BE YOU!? I always am, cuz I walk wid a limp.
