This post is a continuation to a post I made about a week ago called "How to get yourself to pick a book". It highlighted different reasons why people find it difficult to read a book and ways one can to overcome it. So today's post will be the concluding part.
1) Alternate between genres: There are lots of books with different genres and people have different genres they love the most. Some people love romance, some thriller, some horror, non- fiction and so on. But sometimes, some people feel tired reading the same genre even if it's a fiction book; that is why I advise that alternating between different genres of books makes reading books more fun. Alternating between really informative book and fun books makes one feel a balance in reading and also helps to retain and remember important information we just read.
2)Alternating between hardcover book, e-book and audiobook: This may seem unrealistic but it does work; and I just realised that like 3 days ago. Normally, I read only e-book and sometimes hardcover but never tried audiobook because I thought it won't be the same as reading the book myself. But I decided to just give it a try recently because the book I really wanted to read was only on audiobook and aside that, I noticed I always felt drained or tired while reading a book and my eyes were getting tired so the audiobook was like taking a break till I could get into hardcover and e-books again. And that was really one of my best decisions. The reader read the book with enough emotion and catchy tone to keep the me engrossed, and based on some reviews I read online most people had d same experience. So I'll recommend giving it a try to see if it works for you too
3)Making a plan on how you want to read a book: I believe this is really important for people who just want to get into reading books. Making a schedule on what time and how long you want to read matters. It could be per day or thrice a week depending on your schedule. This will also help you stay committed to reading and make it less burdensome.
Thanks to everyone viewing this post; I truly appreciate it. I know there are more ways to help in getting someone to read a book, so I would like for people viewing this post to drop a comment on tips that may have worked for you, to help other readers get into the habit of reading more books. Thank you all🤗🤗
