Falling Petals
Poems are so like a rose Without a flowered scented nose If I could take away your woes Erase I would my dear.
If I could be the one you chose Our love would blossom as it grows But rhymes have turned to parted prose In blots of ink I fear.
With tears that fracture fragment froze In weathered worried wasted woes Love cannot dwell where hate there grows, Apathy will never hear
For petals fall, so frail each goes Where winds that whisper the future flows Oh where's the help? A friend that shows To come and hither near.
Stolen lives in wolves clothes Was not our life and yet we chose Silent poem, voiceless in prose Unless you hither near.
To change the rhyme and hear the cry For apathy will only lie How many souls of pain must die For seeds of love to grow?
Why must the ink now drip in tears Where stolen ones fractured in fears Oh is there one awake who hears To free us from our woe?
If only relationships could work out. Folks are meant to be together helping each other making it better for each other. Isn't that what love is? Yet, selfishness and apathy infest like a toxic chemical. Soon, there is greed and even hatred. Folks are robbed of their innocence and their true potential. The love poem is rewritten as awkward prose and petaled fragments of the petals fall to the ground like tears, only to be weathered and trampled on by the world.
And why must kindness and love be hidden? Where are friends when you are hurting?
I am reminded of families and children, who suffer at the hand of the CPS. Stolen lives and weathered faces are plucked out of the arms of loving parents. Staling, manipulation, intimidation and outright lies pour like rain in the homes of the innocent. Using the element of surprise and flaunting authority, children are sold into a life of hell. From foster home to home, to the streets, sexually trafficked, prostitution, to prisons...and the grave, it is a helpless, vicious cycle downward.
Mom and dad try to fight for their little ones. Hiring lawyers and hoping for justice, they find that the system is rigged with judges and legal professional who are bought off and morally compromised. Their hard earned savings spirals down a funnel to despair, paralleling the doownward spiral lives of their children.
Where is the justice and protection?
And there is the baggage. Guilt, despair, hopelessness, helplessness, anger, abandonment, addiction, loneliness, self-mutilation, and even suicide enter into these precious lives, destroying all innocence. Scenes play repeatedly like a tape inside the minds of the hurting. All of this for both the parents and children.
And the petals fall like tears. How many souls of pain must die? Why must the rhyme be stolen to parted prose?
Are you willing to help and be a friend of the hurting? Will you be their voice? As long as we wear the cloak of apathy, we cannot hear their cry. Apathy only deceives in its lies. Together we can speak out for families, educate the world of the injustice, protect the innocence of children, and bring real justice and truth to this world. We can change the rhyme...the outcome. Will you join us and protect these delicate flowering families?
Why must these petals fall, when together we can protect lives and end the theft of children?
