San Luis Beach, Los Bordones Sector: Cumamá - Venezuela

During these holidays, I have had the opportunity to visit the sea at different beaches in the state of Sucre. This time, while attending an event at the Los Bordones hotel in Cumaná, it was inevitable to visit the beach near the hotel called ** Los Bordones. However, when I looked up the address on Google Maps, I realized that the entire coastline is called San Luis Beach and is divided into sections, with names depending on the inns or hotels nearby. It is an urban gem that combines natural beauty, history, and everyday life... This beach is part of the Los Bordones** section of San Luis Beach.

[Spanish version] Hola amigos, espero se encuentren super bien!🌻 En estos dias de vacaciones he tenido la oportunidad de visitar el mar en distintas playas del estado sucre, en esta oportunidad mientras asistí a un evento en el hotel los Bordones de Cumaná, fue inevitable visitar la playa que queda cerca del hotel que tiene por nombre Los Bordones aunque cuando busque la direccion el google mapa, me di cueta que toda esa extensa costa es llamada playa San luis y se divide por sectores, con nombres dependiendo de las posadas o hoteles cercas, es una joya urbana que combina belleza natural, historia y vida cotidiana... Por lo que esta playa forma parte del sector Los Bordones de la Playa San Luis.

Since we arrived, the beach welcomed us with its best features: clear skies, tall palm trees swaying in the breeze, and silence broken only by the sound of the waves. It was almost 5:00 pm, perfect for walking barefoot on the sand, stretching our feet, and letting the sea do its thing, as the sun was at its softest. The umbrellas made of dried palm leaves were the meeting points.

Eran casi las 5:00 pm Perfecto para caminar descalza por la arena, estirar los pies y dejar que el mar hiciera lo suyo, ya que el sol estaba en su punto más suave.

What other place could be perfect for sheltering from the sun and also be environmentally friendly? I loved the organic feel of this beach, where almost 80% of the umbrellas were made of palm leaves... People chatting, children running with sandy feet, and that relaxed atmosphere that can only be found in the most authentic corners of the Caribbean. Everything had that air of spontaneous community, where no one feels like a stranger.

[Spanish version] Las sombrillas hechas de palma seca, eran los puntos de encuentro, que otro lugar podria ser perfecto para resguardarse del sol que ademas sea amable con el medio ambiente, me encanto lo organico de esta playa casi que el 80% de las sombrillas eran de palma... la gente conversando, niños corriendo con los pies llenos de arena, y ese ambiente relajado que solo se encuentra en los rincones más auténticos del Caribe, todo tenía ese aire de comunidad espontánea, donde nadie se siente extraño.

In the background, green hills completed the landscape. It was like being in a postcard, and amid that calm, the sun shone brightly and the water looked like a mirror. A boat floated peacefully, and some people ventured into the water to swim. I stood watching, enjoying the moment. It was one of those moments that you don't plan, but that stay with you. The sea remained there, serene, and the horizon seemed to invite you to dream a little longer.

! [Spanish version] Al fondo, las colinas verdes completaban el paisaje, era como estar en una postal y en medio de esa calma, el sol brillaba con fuerza y el agua se veía como un espejo. Un bote flotaba tranquilo, y algunos se animaron a nadar. Yo me quedé mirando, disfrutando el momento. Era uno de esos instantes que no se planean, pero que se quedan contigo, el mar seguía ahí, sereno, y el horizonte parecía invitar a soñar un rato más.

And just when we thought the day couldn't get any better, a vendor appeared with her blue tray of shrimp cocktails, mussels, pepitonas, and snails in vinegar... each glass was an explosion of flavor: shrimp, lemon, cilantro, salsa... all served in plastic, but with love, everything fresh and ready to enjoy. My boyfriend loves these cocktails, so he bought one and enjoyed it by the sea, saying that no restaurant can compete with that: the taste of the sea right at your fingertips. The vendor walked among the people, offering her delicacies with a smile that invited them to buy.

[Spanish version] Y justo cuando pensábamos que el día no podía mejorar, apareció una vendedora con su bandeja azul de Cócteles de camarón, mejillones, pepitonas y caracoles en vinagre... cada vaso era una explosión de sabor: camarones, limón, cilantro, salsa... todo servido en plástico, pero con cariño, todo fresco y listo para disfrutar. A mi novio le encantan estos cocteles asi que se compro uno y lo disfruto frente al mar diciendo que no hay restaurante que compita con eso: sabor directo del mar a tu mano. la vendedora caminaba entre la gente, ofreciendo sus delicias con una sonrisa que invita a que le compren.

At the end of the day, when the sun began to set and the breeze became gentler, I went into the sea. Although I can't swim, I really enjoy being in the water and letting myself be carried away by the waves. The water was warm, which made me enjoy this moment of connection, pause, and gratitude even more. Because the sea always knows how to calm everything.

[Spanish version] Al final del día, cuando el sol empezó a bajar y la brisa se volvió más suave, me meti al mar, aunque no se nadar disfruto mucho estar en el agua y dejarme llevar por las olas, el agua estaba tibia, por que disfrute muchísimo mas de este momento de coneccion,pausa y agradecimiento. Porque el mar que siempre sabe cómo calmarlo todo.

Los Bordones has a charm that cannot be fully explained. Its flavor, its people, its traditions. It is the kind of place you want to return to, not because of what it offers, but because of how it makes you feel. And after this trip, I am already thinking about my next getaway.
