Today I want to tell you about the latest purchase I made for my dog Kila, who has been having a rough time with persistent itching all over her little body. Even though her blankets and bed are always clean, the itching wouldn't go away... and seeing her scratch so much broke my heart.

A pesar de que siempre tiene sus cobijas y su camita limpias, la picazón no se le quitaba... y verla rascarse tanto me partía el corazón.
So I decided to take her to the vet. Luckily, it was nothing serious: just some mites that were causing that skin reaction. The doctor recommended using a shampoo with 2% chlorhexidine, assuring me that it would get rid of the problem.
Así que decidí llevarla al veterinario. Por suerte, no era nada grave: solo unos ácaros que le estaban provocando esa reacción en la piel. El doctor me recomendó usar un champú con clorhexidina al 2%, asegurándome que con eso la molestia desaparecería.
I started searching for the shampoo online and was shocked by the price: $50! It seemed excessive, but seeing Kila so uncomfortable hurt me. So I set out determined to visit every pet store in Maturín—and I'm not exaggerating when I say every single one—in the hope of finding a more affordable option or a smaller size.
Me puse a buscar el champú por internet y el precio me dejó helada ¡50 dólares! me pareció excesivo, pero ver a Kila tan incómoda me dolía. Así que salí decidida a recorrer todas las tiendas de mascotas de Maturín, y no exagero cuando digo todas 😅 con la esperanza de encontrar una opción más accesible o una presentación más pequeña.
Most offered 100 ml bottles at prices similar to those on the internet. But Kila is big, and a small bottle like that would barely be enough for three baths... it wasn't cost-effective at all. Until I came to a store where, as if by magic, I found a bar of soap with 2% chlorhexidine. I almost hugged the guy who helped me 😄 and when he told me the price, even more so: only $7. I thought it was wonderful, so I bought it without thinking twice.
La mayoría ofrecía frascos de 100 ml por precios similares al de internet. Pero Kila es grande, y un frasquito así apenas alcanzaría para tres baños… no era nada rentable. Hasta que llegué a una tienda donde, como por arte de magia, encontré un jabón en barra con clorhexidina al 2%. Casi abrazo al muchacho que me atendió 😄 y cuando me dijo el precio, más aún: solo 7 dólares. Me pareció maravilloso, así que lo compré sin pensarlo.
I've only given her two baths with that soap, and the improvement has been incredible. The allergy has completely disappeared, and Kila is happy, calm, and not scratching. I'm happy too. Sometimes, the simplest solutions are closer than we think. 💗🐾
