To begin the process, I masked the edges of the support using clear plastic tape. This allowed me to preserve clean borders and focus the composition within a defined space, giving the drawing a subtle sense of containment and atmosphere.

I selected colors inspired by the sunset—shades like amber, fire orange, dusty pink, and soft violet—and applied them in the order shown in the image.
Each tone was chosen to evoke the warmth and serenity of that fleeting hour, blending gently across the surface to create a sense of emotional transition.

At this stage, I blended the pigments using a cloth to create a granular texture—like particles suspended in the air.
While blending, I worked through a gradient that began with the lightest tone and transitioned downward into the darkest, leaving a subtle band where I repeated the yellow.
This approach gave the drawing a sense of depth and atmosphere, as if the colors were dissolving into light.

With black pastel chalk, I drew silhouettes that evoke distant mountains—emphasizing the upper edge where they meet the sky, and softening the lower part to suggest remoteness and fading contours.
Then, at the bottom of the composition, I gently applied brown tones and unified them using the cloth, allowing the texture to blend naturally.
This layering created a subtle transition between the landscape and the atmosphere, reinforcing the sense of depth and quiet distance.

At this point, I decided to break the linear composition by placing a bright yellow sun in the sky.
After choosing its location in the upper right corner, I used the cardboard stencil as a mask and cleaned the area with an eraser.
Then, I applied a layer of white, followed by yellow, and unified both pigments using my finger in circular motions.
This gesture introduced a vibrant focal point, adding warmth and movement to the atmosphere.

With the black ink marker, I drew a series of grass strokes pointing in the opposite direction of the sun’s position within the composition.
I used continuous lines, adding weight at the tips to create a visual counterbalance to the sun’s location.
This detail introduced a subtle dynamic tension, as if the landscape were reacting to an unseen breeze or emotional shift.

Finally, I used white pastel chalk to draw lines in the opposite direction of the grass strokes, reinforcing the visual idea of closeness and suggesting the temperamental nature of the breeze.
These marks added a subtle rhythm to the composition, as if the air itself were shifting gently across the surface.
