Award Winning Photo Exhibition

It's time to show you the rest of the award winning photos I photographed at the beginning of July, before too many photos pile up in my folders. It's been a month I think, since my last exhibition visit and it's time to see the new ones, so let's get this done :)

The reason I love these photos is not just because these are award winning shots, but because we can all learn from them. We have a lot of professional photographers in the community, but never hurt to see more top quality photos, I think.

Zsófia Várkonyi - Sunbath

This photo was awarded with bronze medal in "Nature - The Tree" category and you can see why. It's impressive how the silver tree stands out and I love the soft light brown color of the ground and the dark background. It's not every day that you find such scenes and suitable light as well.

Robert Endre Német Deák - Momentary Thought

Sad reality, but the photo is excellent. To capture such a portrait is not easy. I'm not good at it as I value privacy and for this reason I like to also give people privacy. Imagine going to the subject, asking them if you can take a photo and then they either say yes, or chase you away.

István Varga - Make Up

Bronze medal in the "Hungarian Inventions" category. Honestly, I have no idea what make up here means and why this photo is in the above mentioned category is ...

Cristian Martinas - Dusk

This is a photo made with archaic techniques. It is a traditional wooden gate in the dark. I'm not familiar with any archaic technique I must admit.

Presearch AI says:

Some archaic photo techniques include:
1. Daguerreotype - Early photographic process using silver-plated copper.
2. Wet Plate Collodion - Involves coating a glass plate with a-sensitive emulsion.
3. Tintype - A direct positive process on a thin sheet of metal.
4. Albumen Print - Uses egg whites to bind the photographic chemicals to paper.
5. Salt Print - One of the first photographic printing processes using salt and silver nitrate.

Ede Tordai - Print

Another photo made with the same technique. Looks like ink. Please, if you know more about this, let me know. I need to make time to look it up and study it.

Hajnalka Kertész - Herbarium

Photo made with the same technique.

Gábor Bede - A langaléta

Here I had to use the original title, which is in Hungarian, because I don't know which English word would fit here. Langaléta is a skinny, tall young boy basically. I don't why why the photographer chose this title, but the portrait is good. The truth is, it's pretty hard to shoot portraits with genuine face expression. People these days are so used to posing for the camera you can't find any who's face expression is genuine. Kids at a young age are taught to smile, say cheese to the camera, then years later they look at the photos and tell themselves how happy they were. Were they? No, of course not, just plastic smile, fake happiness.

Lajos Nagy - Lights In The Woods

I love this. Look at that lovely blue light and the colors of the trees. it's spectacular in my eyes.

Dr. Jenő Fülöp - The Lottery Man

What was I saying about genuine face expression? This is one. I can tell you these people are on the way of disappearance, so in a decade you won't find any. They represent the past, a different life. The photo is excellent though.

I'm not sure if this was intentional, most likely it was, but as you see, every photo is blue on this wall :)

Zoltán Sándor Kőrösi - Projections

Two glasses and an ashtray I think. It's an old trick but looks nice.
