Last weekend I visited a flower exhibition, that I wrote about here. This was my first flower exhibition, hope not the last, but I loved it. The level of artistry the creators exhibited was amazing. Flowers can never be boring, but combined with high level creativity, it can become art.
Next to the flower exhibition, there was a fair as well. Once people are at the exhibition, you can be sure they are going to visit the fair too and this is how it should be. This point of attraction was on my list too, as how can you not go see what they are selling.
I was expecting nothing less, than to see a lot of autumn flowers, among which the well known Erika flower. Yes, my name comes from a flower and it's of German origin. I love this flower, not because it wears my name (or I am wearing its name? 😆), but because it's simple, humble and resists under cold temperatures as well.
There were other flowers too, among which, the lovely chrysanthemums, that have their season now.
Seeds can not be missing, if the fair is about flowers. It's the end of the gardening season here as the cold is settling in slowly, but planning ahead is what gardeners do and you can never be to early, not to mention that bulbs you plant during autumn. I was tempted to go closer and look around to buy some seeds, but I didn't. I don't know what I'm going to do next year, so it would be early for me to buy now.
This was really the area I was interested in, as I'm planning to grow some succulents for spring, but as expected, they wanted an arm and a leg for the one I was planning to buy. The key secret here is, that renting a space for 3 days here costs a fortune and the fee is ultimately paid by the buyers as prices reflect the fee. It's a no brainer and I also know I can get everything way cheaper if I go to the nursery and buy there, so in these places I usually just look around, gather information and that is all. However, what they have on display here was really beautiful.
Same thing here but they already have pumpkins. I loved these decorations.
I don't know if they were on sale, but even so, no pumpkin resists indefinitely so you would throw it away in a month (best case scenario).
These flower compositions are always calling my name and am always admiring them, but the price ...
Apart from flowers and plants of all kinds, they had handmade jewellery, all kinds of flowers made of silk, paper, you name it.
Lavender can't be missing from such an event, but as I can't stand the smell, what I do is take a quick photo and move on as quickly as I can. Purple is not my color and I hate the smell, but these products are nice.
More goodies for every taste and for a selected budget.
This is the Erika (or Erica) flower again. I hope one day I can have a bike like that, full of flowers in front of my house.
Dry flowers can't be missing obviously.
So many are having dry flowers during winter. Those bouquets were lovely.
I went for the flowers, but this was the stall where I stopped to buy something. they had some kitschy products as well, but the coaster you see on the left were calling my name.
These were 2 euro each and after looking for every piece, I came home with two saying: - Remember when I asked for your opinion? Yeah, me neither - Life is good. You should get one
These were the two I liked the most and as are so colorful, I thought I'd use them in the study.
Dried and healthy products also have a place here as these are mostly plants.
Juices, fresh and bottled. I love these, but the truth is, even if they don't have added sugar, they still contain some as fruits have sugar. But they look nice and once in a while you can have a bottle or two.
Last, but not least, the highlight of the fair and the most beautiful thing I saw were these dry flower bouquets. These were 10 euros per bouquet and now i feel bad for not buying one. Wrapped in those brown papers/newspapers, looked really lovely.
