Today Id' like to show you the rest of the photos I took at the solo exhibition of Ioan Alexandru Herdelau, who's art I find really fascinating and I'm kind sad there's no chance of buying a painting for my study. Why in my study? I like to look at my paintings why thinking or waiting for the market to make a move. Sitting on your hands is an art as well and so many fail, myself included of course.
Anyway, 3 days ago I had a post in which I shared a few amazing paintings of this artist, so if you missed it, still time to go back and check it out. I'd recommend you to do it as it explains the style and you will understand these paintings better.
This is a landscape, painted with the same technique, which I love, but somehow I think it looks better on portraits, or this is just a bit too undefined and dark for me? It's not bad, I like it, but knowing how wonderful his portraits are, I would not pick this one over the portraits.
This is a different story. Although the main color here is pink, a color I truly hate, the overall view amazes me. I love the brushstrokes here and how the colors have been selected. If I would to choose one word to describe it, that would be messy, but in the best sense of the word and I love it! Would be happy to own it.
This is a common scene at the countryside. Elderly people sit in front of the house or on the street, in front of the gate and share the news, which in plain English means gossip. As a painting, it's a very good one, it gives you back a piece of village life, or the live of this age category and I admire it, but would not want to look at it on my wall for the obvious reasons.
I'm starting to think this style does not work on landscapes, or I just don't like it as much as I like it on portraits and architecture.
Those nudes have been posted already, when I visited the exhibition, but here you can see the talent of the artist.
Soon I can only repeat myself as I'm going to have to use the same words for every painting. I'm curious if I'm the only one who's in love with this style. Look at those lovely colors, the harmony between those amazing pastel colors.
Looking at this painting, it reminds me an ex politician, recently released from prison. I don't know if it's her or not, it doesn't even matter, what matters is what you see on the canvas. It's just as exceptional in my eyes, as the portraits, the architecture and the nature paintings, but I don't like it.
The clown :) A very funny and colorful one. Here you can not only see the brushstrokes, but the texture of the canvas as well, which adds to the beauty of the painting in my opinion. I love the messy style and how the colors are spread all over the canvas. Would brighten any wall in my opinion. Look at that eye. The other is not visible, but the one that is, says a lot.
This is the cherry on the cake today. If you think you've seen it all from this artist, here you go. You know I like to give you riddles to solve, or should I say, let you tell me what you see in the painting, on the canvas.
This one is pretty vague, I mean you can see it's a head and I think it's a clown, judging by the nose, but maybe you see something else. So let me know in a comment.
Architecture again, but a different one from the previous two and I love this too. How can I not? A rounded corner building is always interesting and the colors here, although a bit dark, are still lovely. Amazing how well theses shades of grey go with the blue and occasional red.
Being in trading, you see a lot as the big guys, who like to think they are big, are showing off a lot and some are already spending the profit they have not earned yet. I haven't thought of that yet, I mean I have a plan but obviously I'm not going to tell anyone as I was thought not to drink on the fur of the bear in advance (Hungarian saying), but if everything goes well, buying a painting from this artist will happen.
